Dr. Marwa A Khalil, MD

I joined Hackensack faculty in 2016 as an Attending Neonatologist. In addition to my clinical responsibilities, I am leading basic science research in the division. My primary research interest focuses on neonatal immunology, pulmonary and developmental outcomes. I was awarded an NIH grant that funded my research in neonatal immunology and now collaborate with Hackensack Maternal Fetal Medicine, Center of Abnormal Placentation and center of discovery and innovation to investigate pulmonary outcomes in neonates born to mothers with abnormally invasive placentas. I also serve as an Assistant Professor of Pediatrics at Hackensack Meridian School of Medicine where I teach patient presentation problem based curriculum. I am a member of multiple major committees, serving as a molecular and cellular principles curriculum design committee member as well in Joseph Sanzari Children’s Hospital pediatric research committee.
