Dr. Mary Ellen Bluntzer, MD

Dr blunter was my doctor until I didn’t do exactly what she thought I should do. She sent me a letter saying she could no longer see me if I could not follow her instructions (even though I tried and failed according to her). She didn’t even give me any referrals just find someone else. When I discussed with her how tired I was of parenting that I needed a break she yelled at me for saying it and said I made the choice to be a parent and had no right to be tired. Even though I’m a single parent with a severely disabled child who at the time was in her 20’s. This from a person who has no children and made her choice not to what does she know about being a parent. I think she believes that she is right about everything no matter the topic. Be cautious of this doctor she is not who she appears to be or wants you to believe she is. The oath first do no harm means nothing to her has never!

Was a patient for over 15 years. She changed - used to be one of the best, then deteriorated. Saw her numerous times gossiping with her Secretary about patients, letting her secretary sign her name on prescriptions, and didn't return phone calls. She claims to be a specialist in many areas, and although I suffered in many of the categories, she never helped me other than throwing pills at me. She is supposed to be a holistic Dr., but never once suggested anything natural or holistic for healing. Always had a long wait, and I've NEVER been warned that she was running over and could reschedule. She also has a Dr. Jekyll/Mr. Hyde personality - you never know which one you'll get, and when you get the nasty side, she's REALLY nasty. Then charges you for the priviledge. If she had stayed the doctor she used to be, she'd be great, but she hasnt. Let's get relationship with her husband dictate her mood too often. Be warned of this one. She is not who she presents herself to be.

Dr Mary Ellen Bluntzer is the best doctor alive. She truly listens to you and feels your pain, no other doctor will take the time to address ALL your issues, I would recommend her to anyone.

It appears someone has decided to post an array of negative posts in a very short time frame. I have seen Dr. Bluntzer for 22 years. I have not seen any change in her thorough, comprehensive approach to treating patients. Sometimes there is a wait. That is usually the result of her spending extra time with a patient. She usually spends at least 30 minutes with her patients and sometimes goes over. That's 30 minutes with her, not support personnel. If you want someone that will listen and try to obtain all relevant details about your condition, there is no one better than Mary Bluntzer.

Started seeing her in 1990. Literally felt she saved my life. But a few years ago things changed. I didn’t mind waiting 45 mins to see her. But the last straw was an over 2 hour wait with no explanation or apology. And I paid cash because she doesn’t take insurance. I left without being seen. After being a patient for 16 years I never heard a word from her. It still makes me sad because I trusted her. I don’t know what happened.

Short tempered, long wait time and rude. She started off nice, but went downhill over three visits. Never again!

Do NOT trust this doctor! She was our family physician for decades and she has gone downhill in a BIG way! She's now rude, snippy, uncompassionate, doesn't live up to any of her so called "expertise" areas, and will gossip about you to her secretary and to other patients. Letting her secretary give her own input on what she thinks the course of your treatment should be. She simply doesn't care anymore. At all. Wait time in her office is at LEAST an hour. Every time. She isn't up to date on the holistic side of things, although she's supposed to be the expert, and she doesn't even know the side effects of the pharmaceuticals she's putting you on! She used to be a good doctor ... now she's fallen amongst the ranks of the "I don't really care anymore, you're just my paycheck" doctors. She's not pleasant, or even NICE, on most occasions, and you'll make her black list if you question her treatments or even disagree with her on something. Doesn't matter how long you've been with… her. She can't even remember from one visit to the next what you discussed on the previous visit, even though her notes are right there in front of her. On one visit she'll tell you one thing about your condition, and on another, it'll be entirely different....and then she denies she ever told you the first thing! But according to her she's never wrong...you must be remembering it wrong. You may think on your first visit "Wow! She seems really great!" .... don't buy it. It's an act. Don't give your hard earned money away here to be treated in an abusive manner. You can do much better.

Until last year my entire family had used this doctor for decades. Almost from when she first went into practice. She has changed DRASTICALLY over time. Average wait is at LEAST an hour, everything she claims in her bios that she is a specialist in isn't true when it comes to treating you. She's not even up to date on what your options are for holistic care, even though she's supposed to be the expert. She doesn't know what the side effects are for pharmaceuticals either. She's now rude, snippy, uncaring, most times unreasonable, and a gossip with her secretary/assistant, talking about you and your conditions, actually letting a non-qualified person put her own spin on what's wrong with you, letting her write out your prescriptions for you instead of doing it herself. She'll even talk about you to other patients. You never know which side of her you're going to get when you go to see her. She has an attitude now because she's been doing this for so long, that she's untouchable,… is never wrong, and really doesn't have to be pleasant anymore. She no longer holds to the oath of "first, do no harm" that all doctors take, and she really doesn't give a flip about you when the treatment plan she has for you fails to work. She doesn't try something else, she just drops you when you aren't responding to her treatments like she thinks you should, and gives absolutely no help in finding a replacement doctor. You would think that after all this time in the field she would be able to refer you to a qualified doctor. She just shrugs. If there's a problem, getting her to call you back is a hit or miss thing. It depends on her mood and whether she wants to deal with it or not. She is a far, FAR different doctor now than she used to be. Don't give your hard earned money away to be treated in this manner. She is on the front lines of the demise of our medical system and of any good doctor for you to depend on and trust. Poor doctoring skills and worse bedside manner. And ... she doesn't care. She simply just doesn't care anymore. No matter how long you've been her patient, that is completely dismissed and thrown out if you make the mistake of questioning her methods or even just disagreeing with her. On your first visit you may think "Wow! She seems like a great doctor!" It's an act. Don't trust her. We've found a good family doctor now and the difference is like night and day.

We've been with Dr. Bluntzer for 20 years. She used to be a great doctor. In the past few years, she has lost her personal touch and her care has gone downhill. Too busy gossiping with her secretary, and letting her influence the decisions made about her patients. If you want to wait an hour (if you're lucky), and want someone that doesn't really care anymore, and is coming to the end of her profession, so she doesn't have to care anymore, go ahead - waste your time here. She is not what she appears to be. Her professionalism is gone. We will no longer put money in her pocket. You can do better.

I started seeing Dr. Bluntzer in 1989. She was astute beyond my belief. I don't know if I would be here today had I not found her. I haven't seen her in many years but carry a great admiration and appreciation for her.
