Dr. Mary Beth Curtis

I went in to see Dr. Curtis for a knee problem and migraines. I waited in the office for about an hour and fifteen minutes and when I was finally taken in to see the doc, she didn't address my migraines (said "well, what do you eat first?" and left it at that...these aren't headaches, they're migraines that cause a complete halt of my daily life) and rather than listening to me explain my history of hyperextensibility and therefore ease of serious joint injury plus the fact my injury had occurred over 2 months prior and not subsided, gave me a brace that was way too big, told me to quit my fitness routine (I'm 23, far too young to be inactive) and did not want a follow-up. When I asked her about it, she said "just wear the brace til it feels better" despite mentioning there was a lot of fluid on my knee...She then spent 20 minutes questioning and quizzing me about whether or not I smoked cigarettes (I don't) and if my menstrual cycle was normal. (I said yes once and she kept pushing… the issue. I wasn't even there for that particular area of health and am not currently sexually active. what possible concerns could she have!?) I have since visited another doctor about the same knee injury after following Dr. Curtis's failed diagnosis...torn medial meniscus that will require more than just a brace to fix. Wouldn't have had to waste my money on two office visits if she'd just listened to me to begin with.

I liked this doctor, I appreciated her kindness towards me, she did not make me feel as though I was wasting her time, she had a good bedside manner and she knew her job as a doctor. I would recommend her to my friends.
