Dr. Mary Elizabeth Damore, MD

Dr. Damore is incredibly misinformed. She rushed to suggesting additional invasive testing for my daughter which, turns out, was unnecessary. She was unaware of the results of a particular test we had previously received and instead of simply telling us she was unfamiliar with the test, she incorrectly recommended something that should not have been. She also failed to properly answer my basic questions, but was quick to prescribe additional bloodwork, etc. She has great bedside manner, but unfortunately, I cannot recommend this Doctor.

This is a review of the endocrinology department. What an unorganized mess. I have to call to report blood sugars daily and getting anyone to answer the phone is almost impossible. I have to call multiple time before getting any response. I have even resorted to pressing the number for random extensions and then asking them to transfer me to the nurse. When reporting medical concerns in regards to medication side effects, i felt ignored. I will admit most of my phone interactions have been with the nurse. When someone does answer the phone the routine is to give patients name, date of birth and reason for calling. I am then transferred to someone that takes the blood sugars number, puts me on hold to show the numbers to the nurse, come back and transfers me to a nurse, nurse then tells us me what Dr Damore said about the numbers. I have met with doctor Demore once, after spending 30 minutes filling out paper work, name was called and i was escorted to the back. My baby's weight and… height were taken and we were told to have a seat in a room across the hall. 40 minutes later the doctor finally appeared. She was very apologetic about our wait time. She said she did not know what room we were in and thought we had left....huhhh? Very friendly lady, but appeared rushed and unprepared. Information that was given previously had to be provided again. Doesn't seen to review patients file before hand and most of the time spent with her she's typing info into the computer and we just sat there. The office staff was horrible to deal with over the phone. The left does not seem to know what the right is doing. Getting them to call prescriptions in is another nightmare. You have to call multiple times before it reaches the pharmacy. Even after being given adequate time, they failed to call the script in. I even had to call the emergency doctor on call to have a script called in because the Dr and her staff had dropped the ball. I requested that they send my baby's test result to the pediatrician for review at my baby's appointment. Not having much faith in there competency, On my way to the pediatrician l called to confirm that the info was faxed and was told yes. An hour later l am meeting with the pediatrician and she confirms that she had not received anything from Dr. Demore office. I called again and a staff notified me that the fax was sent but it appears they faxed it to the wrong doctor. So they basically fax my baby's personal information to some random Doctor that is not treating my child. This is unacceptable, l will be finding another Endocrinologist.

We took our son to this practice (Dr. Desk an is not listed here) to be evaluated for poor growth. The receptionist I made the appointment with said we would need to have a bone-age x-ray done prior to our first visit. I questioned this because my son was only two years old at the time and in was hesitant to expose him to radiation unless absolutely necessary. I was told that it was necessary and, in fact, we would not even be seen without the x-ray. When we finally met with the doctor (after a very long wait) I gave her the dray and she told me that a bone scan for a child his age was not helpful and wouldn't even look at it! I was outraged and told her I was informed it was necessary. She was very indifferent to the fact that I exposed my son to dangerous radiation, not to mention the time, effort, and money involved in having the test done. She didn't even apologize. I was very disappointed with the lack of courtesy and professionalism.
