Dr. Mary Dea, DO

I bounced from doctor to doctor at the U of I with symptoms nobody could fix- until I met Doctor Dea. She was the only doctor at the entire facility familiar with the homeopathy I take which is incredibly rare and was a pleasant surprise on top of my overall experience with her. She also got me off five prescriptions and put me on one medication that fixed my issues within three days- issues that I'd been struggling with for a month. She followed up for regular check-ins on my issues in a timely and effective manner. I have never had trouble scheduling appointments with her (a problem with many other doctors, even my primary care physician back home). Overall, Doctor Dea is kind, knowledgeable, trustworthy, and positive and one of the best doctors at McKinley. Definitely see her if you have options.

We have been with Dr. Dea for several years and have developed a caring relationship with her. While Dr. Dea is time efficient, she readily takes additional time to address any concerns we may express. The staff is equally caring and helpful.

We have been seen by Mary Dea for several years and find her care and concern exceptional.

Everyone in office was tired, but Dr. Dee carefully reviewed my record(s), took time to examine me and even had the capacity for a little humor. She was warm and supportive, I felt as well as an excellent diagnostician and in summarizing my medical concerns. My appointment lasted 30 minutes and I felt better because of her expertise. I would invite any of my family members to consider her as their PCP.

Dr. Mary Dea is a good doctor because she cares about her patients.She will make sure that her patients get better and be healthy. I am lucky to have May Dea as my primary physician.

Mary Dea is a likeable person. She gives me the treatment i feel that I desire. I feel like she is smart with me because I tend to worry about various health concerns and so she puts me at rest when I ask her about things. Just recently I started having very scary things happening to my body and she's been very friendly and appears to care and is sending me to a specialist.

I find Dr. Dea very compassionate, caring and excellent at diagnosing problems. She is very concerned about my well-being. I can discuss anything with her without feeling judged. I am very happy with her as my physician.

I broke my ankle two years ago and she referred me to an orthopaedic surgeon to have it examined further. The surgeon, of course, recommended that I have surgery. I decided to seek a second opinion to be sure about surgery. Dr. Dea actually called me up to ask me why I was seeking a second opinion and attempted to pressure me into getting the surgery done. I felt this was unprofessional and it made me very uncomfortable. It's my body and my decision on whether it will be cut into. I couldn't help but think "What is her investment in me getting this surgery?" I do not know why she would even care whether I got the surgery done. I never went back to her.

In the three years I went to her she never took me seriously. Missed a diagnosis that cost me many months of painful treatment. Not sure why she is practicing medicine.
