Dr. Mary Shannon Fracchia, MD

Dismissive, condescending, inflexible. Did not listen or trust me, the parent who has known child entire life. Pushed hard to take child off medication, which resulted in traumatic ER visit, which cost thousands in out of pocket. Incorrectly diagnosed condition. Avoid this doctor.

Dr. Fracchia is a wonderful, kind physician with excellent clinical skills, who has taken care of my 3 kids for 9 years. She has taken the time to get to know our family, to understand the medical history of my 3 complicated asthmatics, and to advocate for the best medical care available to us. Dr. Fracchia manages to explain complicated drug therapies and treatments to us so that both my kids and I feel that we understand everything that’s happening. Both Dr. Fracchia and her team respond to my questions when I call and email. In short, Dr. Fracchia is top notch at a top notch hospital -- I recommend her without reservation.

Our daughter has been in Dr. Fracchia’s care for congenital airway issues for the past 5.5 years. We appreciate how accessible, responsive, thorough, and kind she is. She has always helped us understand the cost/benefit of intervention options and we feel better equipped to manage our daughter’s health and care because of it. We have also been through multiple procedures with her and have been really thrilled with the care we received from every member of the Mass General team.

Dr. Fracchia saw our son for 18 months and did nothing. We were typically greeted at our checkups with "oh, I expected him to outgrow this". We went to Children's Boston and within 4 months (and 5 specialists visits) had eliminated a number of things Dr. Fracchia had expected and found the root cause. Dr. Fracchia is a very bright, articulate and compassionate physician who specializes in pediatric pulmonology, inclusive of asthma and cystic fibrosis. Her level of knowledge, her bedside manner and her accuracy in diagnosing make her well worth recommending.
