Dr. Mary Frances Gaskill, MD

Mary Gaskill-Shipley, MD, is a board certified radiologist with a certificate of added qualification in neuroradiology. She joined University of Cincinnatis Department of Radiology faculty in 1988 and has been a neuroradiologist at the University of Cincinnati Neuroscience Institute (UCNI) since its founding in 1998. Dr. Gaskill-Shipley is currently a professor of radiology at the UC College of Medicine and serves as the director of operations for the division of neuroradiology. From 2008-2009 she was the interim chair for the department of radiology. Dr. Gaskill-Shipleys special interests include imaging of brain tumors and Chiari malformations. She is a primary participant in UCNIs weekly multidisciplinary Neuro-oncology Tumor Board and was instrumental in developing spectroscopy and perfusion MR imaging in patients with tumors, traumatic brain injury and other neurologic disorders. She also performs many of the spinal interventional procedures within the department, including …therapeutic injections. Dr. Gaskill-Shipley is active in research and clinical trials, and has been asked to speak at national meetings on advanced brain tumor imaging. Dr. Gaskill-Shipley completed her undergraduate education at the University of Notre Dame and subsequently came to Cincinnati for her medical training. She was elected to the Alpha Omega Alpha Society in her junior year of medical school. Although not a native of Cincinnati, Dr. Gaskill-Shipley has spent her entire medical career in this city and considers it her home. She is honored to have trained and worked with some of the finest neuroradiologists, neurologists and neurosurgeons in the country.
