Dr. Mary Louise Gemignani, MD

How lucky am I to have stumbled upon Dr. Gemignani post diagnosis? Not only is she incredibly intelligent, kind, decisive ( I could go on and on with adjectives). She is also a surgical wizard. I had to have a fairly large section of my breast removed during my lumpectomy and if you hadn't seen my breasts beforehand, you wouldn't know there was anything wrong ( outside the incision....which is actually a beautiful incision). Also her team is equally as kind and hardworking.

I'm not sure if there are any words that can express how thankful and fortunate we are to have had Dr. Gemignani as my mom's surgeon. Upon visiting a doctor in NJ we were informed that my mom had very beginning stages of breast cancer. With great attention to detail after seeing Dr Gemignani, she ordered additional mammogram and sonogram just to cofirm the diagnosis. Upon completing mammo and sonogram in MSK Dr. Gemignani found additional questionable areas and the surgical plan changed to what was a mascetomy. I have no doubt that thanks to Dr. Gemignanis expertise my mom's prognosis looks the way it does. The whole Memorial Sloan Team you are amazing. From front desk to nurses, to all the doctors you are all what makes a patient whole. Pathology lab , radiology etc God Bless You All!

We were recommended by a friend who's life Dr. Gemignani literaly saved. She is one of the best surgeons at Sloan Kettering. Besides being highly qualified she is warm and compassionate and very easy to speak with and a great listener. If you are diagnosed with a breast cancer diagnosis this is the only place you should go. She answered all our questions in a way we could clearly understand and with great patience. Her team was just the same and treated me in the same manner. I felt confident from the first visit and if anyone gets a diagnosis of cancer there is no finer hospital to go to than Sloan Kettering

I am very happy with dr Gemingani She is a wonderful, warm and kind physician, which is quite unusual for the surgeon ( in my experience, being a physician myself for more than 30 years She is also a great surgeon She made me feel less anxious after I met her Highly recommend her to anybody with breast cancer problem

I went to Dr. Gemignani as a 2nd opinion, knowing that MSK is the best for treatment. Upon meeting her i found her to straight forward with her answers and took time explaining everything to me. My results with her was to have a lumpectomy, vs the Mastectomy i was told by another physician. She gave me the reasoning behind her findings based on all the medical reports I submitted to her. I am proceeding with MSK for my surgery and treatments.

My mom is being seen by Dr. Gemignani and unfortunately will be in her care after her first surgery with her for her second surgery. She has horrible bed side manners, likes to roll her eyes and overall seems very annoyed when asked questions. She is very dismissive and answers the questions with minimal details. If my mom has to continue seeing a breast surgeon after her next surgery we will definitely not be seeing Dr. Gemignani again. I wish she would have shown her true colors before we picked her as my moms doctor.

Dr. Gemignami spent quite a while discussing what the best treatment would be for me. She and her team were extremely patient when I had any questions. I had a nipple sparing double mastectomy and I couldn’t have asked for a more knowledgeable and professional surgeon. She saved my life.

Dr. Gemignani is a very competent and capable surgeon. She immediately put me at ease and assured me that she would do the best for me, and she did. My surgery (lumpectomy) went extremely well. I recommend Dr. Gemignani to anyone with a diagnosis of breast cancer.
