Mary Ruth Habashy, CNM

Mary Habashy, DNP, CNM, is a certified nurse midwife who provides pregnancy, childbirth and postpartum care. She cares for people from adolescence throughout adulthood, with medical expertise in helping patients with their sexual and reproductive health, gynecologic health and family planning services, including preconception care. Her practice is particularly focused on physiologic birth and supporting people with substance and opioid use disorders.Dr. Habashy is passionate about meeting her patients where they are in their health journeys and partnering with them to achieve their personal health goals. Whether it's helping a patient navigate pregnancy, find effective contraception or manage other health concerns, she is committed to providing empathetic and informed care. "I love empowering women and families to participate in their healthcare journey," she says.Dr. Habashy holds a Doctor of Nursing Practice (DNP) degree from Penn State. This accomplishment was notably achieved …while balancing the demands of her professional and personal life - including the birth of her own child, an experience that has informed her midwifery practice.Originally from northern Indiana, Dr. Habashy was drawn to the area by her studies at Penn State, which has since become her home. Outside of her professional life, Dr. Habashy is an avid traveler, enjoying global and local adventures with her husband and two children.
