needs to think about women differently and understand families as well, not focused enough

Dr. Houlihan is an amazing, kind, and compassionate doctor who helped save my mom. In 2018, doctors at Beth Israel found a mass in my mom’s breast and Dr. Houlihan was the oncology surgeon in the team that safely and successfully removed that mass. Dr. Houlihan was always so kind to my mom, especially with their language barrier, and made sure that my mom was not only going to survive, but also thrive with the treatment plan that she was a part of. My family had never been through something like this before, but Dr. Houlihan always prioritized our concerns, answered any questions we had, and did everything she could to make my mom feel safe and know she was being taken care of by the best. She always did her best to help us understand what was happening and always updated us whenever she and the team knew something new. Dr. Houlihan performed the breast lump removal surgery that helped save my mom and she was part of an amazing team at Beth Israel that helped my mom fight breast cancer… and we are forever grateful. Thank you, Dr. Houlihan.

Everyone expects a doctor to be perfect. Dr. Houlihan is a very caring doctor, yes we are the ones dealing with Breast Cancer, but Dr. Houlihan is also dealing with it every single working day, and I'm sure she takes it home with her. Operating nearly daily on woman, cant imagine the stress. Dr. Houlihan called me at 7pm at night, when I needed a new surgeon, because I had a bad fit with the one I had. She took me under her wing, as busy as she is, she didn't have to do that. That's how caring she is . I am very happy she is my surgeon. Thank you Dr. Houlihan !!

Everyone expects a doctor to be perfect. Yes we are the ones suffering from Breast Cancer, but Dr. Houlihan is also dealing with it every single working day. Having to operate on women nearly daily. She truly cares, I'm sure takes it home with her. So if a doctor isn't perfect everyday, think , they are human to. Dr. Houlihan took me on as a patient, when I had a bad relationship with my own surgeon , she didn't have to do that, but she called me at 7pm at night, and took me under her wing. Dr. Houlihan is an excellent doctor, one with a great big heart.

Dr Houlihan is truly God sent. She is compassionate, has shown great care for me as her patient, goes above and beyond to explain and make sure you understand what she's explaining and is so assuring. This is truly her calling. I wish all medical doctors would be like her. I had a horrible experience prior to switching to Dr. Houlihan from another breast surgeon that kept blowing off my concerns of new nipple discharge and calcification findings in mammograms for months until she finally decided to biopsy assuring me it probably is nothing, despite my strong family history. both mother and twin sister with breast cancer. Biopsy came back DCIS and she continued to be laid back saying this is stage 0 really nothing to worry about. She was cold, a bit arrogant and sometimes condescending with my concerns. She literally left me up in the air after diagnosing me with breast cancer bc I was having insurance difficulties. My gut told me I shouldn't stay with her and through God's will I… found Dr. Houilhan. I would recommend anyone dealing with breast cancer to see Dr. Dr. Houlihan.

Dr Houlihan helped me face partial mastectomy when I was so scared of cancer that I wanted double total mastectomies with nipples removed, but after conversation on her own time she assured me that the statistics were the same, and I went ahead on the partial mastectomy on right breast, with some lymph nodes removed, yesterday, and I am very comfortable with our decision.

Dr. Houlihan is the most knowledgeable, experienced and KIND Breast surgeon you will find . Hands down you are in the best of care.

RUN!!! She lacks respect, sensitivity & her bedside manner is terrible. She doesn't answer questions & simply says "you are not at that point yet". I switched to another surgeon & it was a much better fit. It got to the point that I simply didn't trust her anymore and I am so happy that I went to another surgeon.

She is simply the best
