Dr. Mary Margaret Klix, MD

Dr. Klix took over my oncology care from Dr. Leonard White. I could not be more thrilled with the care I have gotten from her. Connie (Reception/Secretary) is amazing and Patrice (RN) are both great additions to her team. Would recommend Dr. Klix (and I have) to anyone with a cancer diagnosis.

Everyone in this office is extremely friendly and helpful. They have helped me navigate insurance issues, treatment options, etc., with great care and concern. she even has a therapist on staff that specializes in clients with cancer diagnoses. I will continue to recommend Dr. Klix, especially after poor experience at Cancer Treatment Centers of America.

I was diagnosed with cancer (in 2005) by a different doctor who I felt was uncaring and brusk. I went to Dr. Klix for a second opinion, which was more accurate than the first, and I switched to Dr. Klix because I felt that she was not only a good oncologist, but that she really cared about me! That's very important to me, especially with a disease like cancer that affects your body, your emotions, your family, and your whole being. When she moved to her own practice several years ago, and I stayed with the Mercy practice, but after being passed from doctor to doctor to nurse practitioner, and never feeling any of them truly knew me or cared about me personally, I was happy to follow Dr. Klix to her new location, and have been with her ever since. I attribute my continued survival to her competent care!

I understand that a Dr's staff can make it difficult sometimes, and maybe that bothers some people. However, this should not effect rating the Dr's performance. I moved with Dr. Klix because I found her to be the first oncologist I could talk and relate to. (Yes, I changed from someone else specifically to be in her care.) She helped me thru my cancer and continues to give me solid advice and care.

This doctor is alway running an hour behind. The office staff was very rude. They never call you back. When I call back they keep telling me they will get back to me and don't. I am never going back to see her ever again. She was not a nice lady too.

Yes, Dr. Klix has left the previous practice she was at just to begin her own. I am a cancer survior and feel she is the biggest reason I recovered so well. Her bedside manner is the best. I had no problems with my treatments. I know several other patients of her's that will also be following her. Woman to woman, we need to stick to the female doctors who can understand our bodies and what is going on.

Dr. Klix is no longer at St. Johns Hospital. I have another oncologist now. No problem, since I was going to ask for a new one anyway.

She is careless. Her inability to focus on the details or see the patient as an individual means that patients are placed into "batches" and treated without taking their individual condition into consideration. Therefore, many people are subjected to unexpected side effects, some of which have been quite severe and lifelong!
