Dr. Mary Mcgowan Kobak, MD

Our family went to Dr. Kobak for many years while living in Newark. She is a caring, skilled, sweet spirited person & doctor who we trust immensely. She is competent, knowledgeable, practical & thorough in her practice. Wish she was our dr here in Florida!

Appointments ran consistently late by 45 mins, on a couple of occasions it was as much as 4 hours late however, I remained patient, since I NEEDED to be seen. She overlooked several of my ailments-- a few of which she claimed to be 'cysts' (and over prescribed me on antibiotics) that actually turned out to be an awful MRSA infection. My parents also previously went to her. My father complained of severe abdominal and back pain. He was concerned it was the patch used in a previous hernia operation. She became frustrated when he could not remember the EXACT date of his surgery (which had occurred over 15 years ago, and they were recalling some patches from that time) and REFUSED to look in his chart which was sitting on her lap, she told him that the "doctors shouldn't have to waste their time thumbing through patients charts." How arrogant! Rather, she told him he needed to go to a chiropractor and have his spine manipulated. Thank God he did not do this! Turns out, he had severe… diverticulitis. The ER doctor that my father had to go to soon after his appointment with Dr. Kobek, said that had he gone to have his spine manipulated, it would have ruptured, causing him to become septic. He went in for surgery soon after to have a portion of his intenstines removed. I would never be able to trust her diagnosis hereafter. All this after we had been her patients for approximately 2 years.

I been seeing dr kobak for quite a few years. I am bery happy to have her as my doctor. I like how she is very concern about my health, fully explains on what is going on and any medication that she will prescribed, over all she is a very professional doctor, who really cares about peoples health and its on top of making sure you get ypur routine appointmenrs taken care of. I will highly recommend dr, mary kobak to anyone, i assure that they will be very happy to have her as their doctor. Iam very happy i wont change my doctor ( dr,kobak) for anyone else.

She told me one time that she dont have enough time to talk (i can`t remember about what i was gonna ask her),because i scheduled short appointment with her.
