She attended optometry school in Philadelphia at the Pennsylvania College of Optometry from 1999-2003 graduating with honors. Dr. Mercer joined Tidewater Eye Centers in 2005. She has extensive training in treatment of ocular disease such as glaucoma, infections, and dry eye disease and in managing cataract patients both pre and post operatively. Her special area of interest is in the fitting and prescribing of specialty contact lenses including scleral lenses for patients with corneal diseases such as keratoconus or corneal transplants.
