Dr. Mary Carroll Miller

When I was young I saw Dr. Mary Miller, and told her exactly what I was going through. I was being bullied everyday, and was having trouble getting my parents to deal with the issue. Instead of handling the bullying, Mary Miller put me on a medication that treats bipolar disorder. At 40, I have never been diagnosed with even depression. Turns out after high school, and the bullies left me alone, I was fine. I even pursued several degrees of my own in psychology because I wanted to make the field a safer place; in which patients are actually heard. Sadly I can't find the psychologist she worked so closely with back then but he was worse than her in his perversions. I was sad to see that she still practiced. I guess pill peddlers never go out of style. The reason I remember her, and will likely never forget her is because she changed how I viewed the field. She gave me false hope, and I believed she was there to help me. Telling my parents I needed help against people beating me up in… school didn't pay as much as making something up, and putting me on medication. I want to thank her for her incompetence. If it weren't for her, I would never have known how badly the field needed help. If anything, I hope this finds her, and I hope she's near enough to retirement that she doesn't detrimentally affect any other young, scared, impressionable, and desperate children.
