Dr. Mary Ellen Moyer, MD

Like a similar reviewer, it was my first time coming since Dr. Moyer sold. Would have been nice to know before I was undressed and in the room....anyway, staff is super friendly, I must say that. However, I felt like none of my records were available. There seemed to me no history in the system. They also didn't address issues I wrote on the intake. I also have to make another appointment to get my results, even though I signed that I will accept over the phone. That's more loss time from work. Calling in my rx was a challenge too. I'm not impressed.

I came in for an annual exam, like I have for the past 8 years at the same practice. Apparently since I have been there last, Dr. Moyer sold her practice to Optima Medical. Through the exam Dr. Moyer acted as though she had no past records on me. She had to put much of her focus into using the new voice recorder and accompanying software than into going over my medical history. I requested a basic prescription that another one of my doctors had been prescribing, and she wrote the prescription incorrectly. After I got home, I waited over a week for my lab results. It's almost been a month, and I have yet to get a call from this facility to go over my labs. Also, after I got home, one of the call backs I did receive from my numerous messages left for the doctor, I was told that I needed to call my insurance to update the facility's tax ID if my exam was to be covered. I did as they said, but then was told by insurance that the office had to make that change. The only golden lining is I… did get in touch with one staff member who released my labs so that I could view them. Overall the support staff was friendly, calling in and getting a person was impossible, and the practice itself is not dependable in any fashion.

I have been going to this Dr office for years...I was 8min late and was told after 10min I would have to reschedule,which I understand! When I arrived the receptions was extremely rude! I told her she was curt! She then began to argue with me which was very discomforting since I’m the one in need of the Dr. She went to the Dr then they canceled my appt. I really needed this appt. Not anger just very sad since I will need to find another Dr. Chris Petersen ??

I have been a patient for a few years now, and never had any poor experiences with my regular check ups and blood panels. My last exam went well enough with blood being drawn, and a biopsy being removed from a questionable new mole. The results from both came quickly, and I was informed that my biopsy had tested positive for cancer. With the initial call from the MA, I was in shock and didn't think to ask for specifics. In retrospect, I feel she should have had more information to present to me even if there was only a few specifics, or pointing me in a direction for more information or support group or anything. The next morning, I called the office back to ask if the results could be explained to me, or if there was additional information available. The receptionist was very rude each of the three times I had to call back, which was unusual from my past experiences. Then I was informed I couldn't have my results. Then I was told only one person could give me my results, and they… were too busy. After phone tag for 2 days, I was told that my biopsy only said positive, with no additional information. She had the report in front of her, and she told me she read everything off of the report to me. I believed her, but then spent 3 weeks on edge because I didn't know anything, and apparently the original biopsy was only sent out to test for the presence of cancer which sounded very idiotic to me. Now after my referral appointment at the dermatologist 3 weeks later, I have a copy of that biopsy report in hand. It stated everything I needed and wanted to know to ease my mind and make me feel better educated and informed about my future direction. I waited 3 weeks not knowing anything other than I had the scarlet letter attached to me and no one wanted to help me at Dr. Moyer's office (Dr. Moyer herself was not involved). Her staff needs to be trained on patient compassion as well as presenting test result information to the patient. I can't believe I could have known everything if one employee would have spent one more minute with me or had even cared about my concern. It seems I was written off as soon as I had to go to a specialist and would no longer be giving my copays to them.

Dr. Moyer has been taking care of our family for 7 years - even though we have moved back to Phoenix we will continue to travel to Prescott Valley to see her and her staff when our medical needs must be met!

I've seen her for many years. Never given me help or alternative with pain

Dr. Mary Moyer is a doctor who cares about her patients. She has a courteous staff, clean office and exam rooms, I've never had to wait too long for my appointment. Dr. Moyer takes time with me to listen to my concerns, I don't feel like she rushing me through. She works with me and allows me to try a natural approach first before prescribing drugs and then she's careful when she does. She has excellent recommendations for specialists too when needed. I trust her completely.
