My sister was treated by Dr. Puccio and she was simply the worst doctor I've ever experienced. My sister would go every week and had various reactions to the chemotherapy. Dr Puccio never offered any alternative therapies. My sister was told that joint pain must have been from some other cause. That Gastric pain was all in her head. That visits to the ER were akin to "crying wolf". Skin eruptions were probably due to new lotions. The final straw was when this Doctor failed to inform my sister that the colon cancer had returned. The Doctor placed a very self serving note in the file that the patient had left treatment "AMA" (Against Medical Advice). Two years later.... My sister now is being treated at Stonybrook by Oncologists who are excellent, caring, kind and professional. She has the same reactions to the chemo as before but her current physicians rotate the treatments give to her body time to recover. My sister lost two years thinking she was cancer free when… Dr Puccio withheld that information at a very critical moment. My sister was informed that the cancer had returned when she went to the ER thinking she had a urinary tract infection. Instead the ER docs discovered that her cancer had spread and that it was shown in her final MRI with Puccio. Her staff follows the anti-social lead of the Doctor. They berate patients and are rude and belligerent to patients on the phone and in the office. Stay away this group! It is not even third rate and they should lose their hospital privileges.

Dr. Puccio is very knowledgeable and well versed in her field. She is a no-nonsense doctor, straightforward and honest. She explains things in detail and shares information without hesitation, offering suggestions and recommendations as needed.
