Dr. Mary Jo Schmitz

From the minute I enter Dr. Schmitz office I felt at ease. The staff is caring and I didn't have to wait at all. Dr. Schmlitz nurse Karen is wonderful and so caring ! I went to see Dr. Schmitz for low grade uterine cancer. Dr. Schmitz, was highly recommended by several doctors, and I can see why! Dr. Schmitz, is so caring and made me feel at ease right away . She is an excellent doctor and surgeon . She preformed the Da Vinci robotic hysterectomy the procedure went perfect and I never experienced much pain . I work in the medical field as an interpreter and meet alot of doctors and surgeons, I have never met a more caring and excellent surgeon as Dr Schmitz. I was blessed to have found her and her caring staff ! Thank you Dr Schmitz and staff .

Dr. Schmitz is extremely rushed. She spent less than 5 minutes with me, failed to explain my diagnosis, did not describe the procedure she suggested, and gave no opportunity for me to ask questions. When I called her office the next day her staff was unaware that she had even "scheduled" my surgery and I was told that an NP or Dr. Schmitz would call me back to discuss my questions. No one ever called. If you have a choice, I would recommend going elsewhere for care where the staff is organized and your questions will be answered.

I saw both Dr Davis and Dr Schmitz and they were both excellent communicators, made sure I understood everything and asked more than once if I had questions or concerns. Dr. Schmitz is warm and open and matter of fact. I felt she was very confident about the outcome and honest about possible problems. The surgery was more difficult for her than anticipated but she completed it successfully and I have had the minimum pain/soreness that I could imagine. She also has a positive and cheerful personality and sense of humor but not in an inappropriate way. She was also great with communicating with my daughter after the surgery. I really couldn't expect any better care from Dr Schmitz and her staff. Very grateful and happy.

She dealt with me in a matter of fact straight forward manner which I appreciated. She took time to help me consider my options and she performed an excellent successful surgery. I could not be more pleased with her.

I am upset that I was rushed through this surgery without any information about how it would incapacitate me afterward. I was surprised at the cavalier attitude after the surgery when I could not believe the amount of pain I had with this surgery. Who cares?? Questions about chemo, although I'm sure are repetitive to this physician, are important to the patient. I would never go back to her.
