Dr. Mary Elaine Stauble, MD

I had come to get a yearly check up and it was my first time. It was a horrible experience. Not being from Louisville I wasn't sure where to go or who would be a good doctor, she wasn't even the doctor I has scheduled to have my appointment with. I am no where near fat and never have been in my life, I wear small/medium in shirts and wear a size 6 in pants, she told me for my height I weigh way too much and needed to work on losing weight really bad, it made me very uncomfortable and self concious about myself because I have never been told by a doctor my weight was an issue. I just feel like she could have said it in a nicer way but instead she was rude and she seemed like she was rushing through the appointment and there was also 3 other people in the room during my appointment so I felt like I was on display to everyone. I have a schedule up appointment that I will most likely cancel and never go back there. I will say the woman at the front desk was friendly and the medical student… that was in the room made me feel more comfortable than the actual doctor.

This was my first time going to Dr. Stauble. Needless to say, I did not have a good experience. It seemed as if she was in a rush, so she was rushing through my appointment. Also, she had a Medical School student in the examination room, without my permission. In fact, I was never even asked if I was comfortable with the Medical School student being in the room. To make things worse, I overheard Dr. Stauble and the medical student asking another patient if they were comfortable having the med student in the examination room. She is a good doctor, but she didn't seem to have care about my concerns. Also, the medical student sitting in on my visit without asking me was very unprofessional, not to mention me overhearing them ask the other patients for permission. I would not recommend Dr. Stauble to any friends.

Dr. Stauble used to be a sole practitioner. Now she is affiliated with University of Louisville. Although she is still a good doc, the office experience is more like a mill. Also, it took me 15 minutes just to get thru to someone to get an appointment.

Dr. Stauble provides excellent care. I have never had to wait more than 10 minutes to see Dr. Stauble. She is very friendly and knowledgeable. Unfortunately, she no longer delivers babies.
