Mary Toth, DNP, FNP-BC

I was excited to go see Mary Toth based off the reviews stating that she really listens to her patients. Unfortunately, that was not my experience. I brought up a concern that has been bothering me since giving birth to my second child. She said, "We can stop blaming your daughter now. This is not a post partum issue now." First of all, I would NEVER blame my daughter. Period. Second of all, I was simply trying to show a correlation. And my daughter was, and still is, under 2 years old. I've read from countless sources that our bodies don't get back to normal until 2 years, sometimes even more. I should have left at that point. Especially after she started on about "it MUST be depression." She brushed off other concerns as well (you're too young for that, I have something similar and it's fine, so you're fine, etc.) She did end up "throwing a dog a bone" and ordered some tests, even though she told me nothing was wrong, although I don't feel like she ordered a comprehensive test.… When she called to go over my results, she paused after reading those results, as if to say, "I told you so," or else she wanted me to worship at her feet. Who knows, maybe she was right, but I don't think she was. But if she would have simply said something like, "I believe it's probably depression, but let's rule out everything else before we go that route," I would have appreciated that a whole lot more and would not have sworn off doctors.
