Dr. Mary Wilde, MD

I had an amazing experience with Dr. Wilde! Like previous comments I had many recommendations when diagnosed with breast cancer, like two OB/GYN doctors. One of them even stated “If his wife or daughter was diagnosed, she would be going to Dr.Wilde!” Although busy, she would answer every question I had, even the tough ones. A consummate professional. She isn’t going to tell you what you want hear or candy coat but you can tell she cares and extremely knowledgeable. I remember asking her if she were to have a type of breast cancer (triple negative, her2+ etc) which is the better/easier to have? She answered “None!” And something to effect that there wasn’t a good cancer. “It’s evil but her team is even more evil to get it!”That was all I needed to hear to know she was the right warrior for me! Her staff is caring as well with scheduling appointments not just with her office, but appointments for the entire team of oncology, radiation, etc. Trying to call for appointments with… various doctors is the last thing you want to deal with when facing this news. One last comment I have to commend Dr. Wilde is she had what looked like a book of all the notes, test scores, biopsies etc on paper in my file from the beginning of my diagnosis. She would bring the file in each appointment to document. When Scripps computer system went down, from the hack, for a month, other doctors were calling for copies since they didn’t have access to the system. She however always knew what was going on with me. It’s isn’t an easy road if you are facing breast cancer but you are in great hands with Dr.Wilde.

Incompetent, abusive, yelled at me in exam room and again in front of her staff and patients. Retaliated against me because I walked out of her office, by writing I was the abuser in my medical record. Called me told me test result was normal, when in fact it was not. Made me wait in exam room for over an hour. Wrote in my record incorrect information about what was discussed at appointment, more than once. Had to bring to her attention, to have corrected. Forgot what treatment and surgery we’d already discussed and put in orders for tests I’d already received. Egotistical bully!

I'm the type that does significant research before choosing a medical provider. Dr. Wilde's credentials are so impressive that it was a no brainer in choosing her to be the surgeon for my partial mastectomy. I was not disappointed. She explained everything thoroughly and was straightforward in her communication. She knew exactly how to express both bad news and good news - preventing any angst I could have had. There was no pain and upon removal of the bandages I was shocked that I looked fully normal except for a few small pieces of tape. I couldn't be more grateful to Dr. Wilde.

was the worst doctor experience I have ever had. She also lied in the medical report stating she had physically examined me. She did not examine me at all. She seemed to be bothered that I had questions. Said she needed to tell my primary care doctor to "tell" me what to do rather than asking questions. She wrote a very negative medical report where she actually poked fun at me for asking questions and not just "doing as I was told." She only looks good on paper.

I went to Dr. Wilde for a second opinion and she was far and away superior to the first general surgeon I went to. I was seeking a second opinion for breast surgery.

After seeing another surgeon for a breast lump/biopsy, I wasn't happy with the plastic surgeon he used, he said he's the only one he works with and if I chose another one I would likely have to change insurance "groups"-north county vs La Jolla. I want to be comfortable with both Drs so it wasn't an option, I searched and I found Dr. Wilde who specializes in breast cancer. My sister and I went for my consultation and I couldn't have been happier! She spent 90 minutes with me discussing in great detail the pathology report, that I would have a team of 6 doctors and I would see all of them before we decided on which direction to go so I could make an educated decision, treatment after surgery, she drew pictures explaining how the type of cancer grows, etc. My apptmt with my prior surgeon was 15 minutes - what a difference! I feel so comfortable with her and the bonus is that this is her specialty, I'm in capable hands, I'm very optimistic!

I always left Dr. Wilde's office feeling so much better. She took the time to explain everything in a way I could understand. I highly recommend Dr. Mary Wilde.
