Dr. Maryam Haeri

Dr. Haeri convinced me that I needed four fillings when I'd never had a cavity in my life. I should've gotten a second opinion but I'd had nothing but good experiences with previous dentists and I'd had a recent gingivitis flare-up that was worrying me so I took her word for it -- even though she did little to explain the issue other than pointing repeatedly, with visible annoyance, at an xray that looked fine to me. She did a horrible job on the fillings themselves: food got trapped between them constantly and they hurt to the point that I couldn't chew on that side of my mouth for the first two years they were in, even though I went in for two follow-ups to have them touched up because of the pain. Now, as of this week, two of the fillings have fallen out and my current dentist is being forced to drill again to fix her work, which he described as "just awful." Shoddy work aside, I'm now convinced that this work was unnecessary. If you look at her practice on Yelp, almost every… review over the past couple of years has been someone with a story nearly identical to mine: she falsely identifies multiple cavities between the patient's back teeth, scares the patient, then performs expensive and unnecessary drilling. I'll never have my undrilled teeth back and I wish all the time that I'd never set foot in this office.
