Dr. Maryam Sickinger, DO

I liked her personally; she seems nice, and she was friendly enough. However, she kept me waiting 45 minutes (unlike another reviewer, I was given paper clothing, but the room was absolutely freezing) and didn't apologize for the wait. I happen to be a patient who doesn't mind waiting, provided the doctor gives me enough time when it's my turn. I also come prepared with the products I use and a list of all my concerns. Dr. Sickinger did not look at anything I'd brought and tried to leave after answering each question. I had to keep saying, "Wait, I'm not finished," which I found VERY annoying. For one particular - and particularly vexing - problem, she barely glanced at me, informed me I need to moisturize more, wrote the name of an OTC moisturizer on her business card, told me to return in a year, and finally made her getaway. Gee, I feel like I can find any old stranger to ignore me. She probably knows her stuff and could offer me some relief, were she willing to take the time to… actually look at my issues. I won't be returning.

What a WASTE of our time and day!! As brand new patients, Dr. Sickenger left my husband and me waiting and WASTING 1 hour and 1/2 to see her. We finally walked out. Who the heck does she think she is to be so disrespectful to her patients!?! If she has this little respect and care for her patients, I’m concerned with the quality of care that she gives to them! Don’t waste your time or money and whatever you do, take your health care to a more professional, respectful practice! Oh, also, the medical assistant took absolutely NO vitals and didn’t even offer us paper gowns to change into! Totally unprofessional office! No thanks!

This appointment was my second time seeing Maryam Sickinger, and it was my second time being disappointed. She is a lovely person, but today she was one hour late and didn't even apologize when she came into the room; my time didn't matter. She was very rushed, spent about 3 minutes with me, and was gone. I feel very unimportant going to her office. The guy who works at the front desk acts like he hates his job and is not welcoming or friendly—disappointing office staff. Dr. Sickinger has you remove your clothing to check your body while her male assistant is in the room. No changing into a paper garment or robe. Unprofessional! I think I will be finding a new dermatologist in the future.

She diagnosed squamous cell cancer on my face, eradicated it and provided close follow-up. She is competent, efficient, compassionate and has superb communication skills.

I have been going to Dr. Maryam Sickinger for at least ten years. Her office staff is very professional. She has had to do different procedures over the years. As long as she is in practice I won’t be going elsewhere.

Dr Sickinger is a genuine find. She treats all my normal dermatological issues but also figure it out when something is actually wrong. Thank you so much for your help. I only wish I had found you sooner.

Dr. Maryam Shahsavari was courtesy and willing to listen to my complaint. She was also able to make me feel better by just being around her. I took my medications and had a complete recovery. Thanks Dr. Shahsavari !
