Dr. Marybeth Fox

Would not recommend. Dr. Fox was not able to relate to myself, a young adult, and often her remarks, facial expressions, and comments were condescending and inappropriate. Given how hard it is to find a therapist, I walked into this the session extremely open minded but after 10 minutes all I wanted to do was leave. I ended up going elsewhere and am very happy with my new therapist.

Dr Fox has low intellect, which she conveniently attributes to her "style", which she admits is very slow. Also, she is very money minded, and values this over patient welfare. Finally, she openly says she does not offer any practical "advice" at all and is just there to listen. Given these factors, talking to your dog is likely to provide similar (or indeed better) results. Plus if she thinks it's not an "easy" case, she will not take it. Learn from my experience and talk to your friends as well if they're seeing her. They might need real help and there are better options available.

Dr. Fox is incredibly kind, thoughtful, skilled, and values your privacy even when interacting with outside entities upon request. We've been working together for nearly three years, navigating medications and emotions and everything else inbetween. She is a careful listener and don't tell you what to do or not do. I would highly recommend her practice, especially to those with childhood trauma or Stanford students looking for a good therapist in the area that can handle medication too.

I really did not like Dr. Fox. She never made me feel better, her office is pure trash, she has tried to get me to talk about things that I do not want to talk about, she is really rude and has sworn in front of me before and has told me the things I say are "bulls***t" and is extremely unhelpful. I have been going to her for a long time now, because there are no other psychiatrists in my area, but she is really a bad doctor. I also have asked her multiple questions about medical conditions and she has no idea what I'm talking about. During my college process, when I was extremely stressed she also did not help at all either.
