Dr. MaryBeth Ritenour

I’m MaryBeth Ritenour, licensed massage therapist, and owner of Mohawk Valley Healing Therapies. My mission is really pretty simple: providing relief for those with chronic pain and stress.

I became a massage therapist after having a desk job in IT for many years. The majority of which, I suffered with chronic low back pain. Then a few years ago, I needed surgery on BOTH shoulders to repair a rotator cuff tear. I know all too well, how living with chronic pain can negatively impact our lives and cause excessive stress. I decided to attend massage school because of a very special massage therapist who finally found and addressed the root cause of my chronic back pain.

I have been very blessed to be mentored by that massage therapist in assessment and their very highly effective, specialized massage techniques, to relieve chronic pain conditions. Now, I not only get to live a pain free life, I feel proud and honored to help others the way I have been helped. As I continue working with …people in chronic pain, I have found that the adjunct techniques of Craniosacral Therapy and Manual Lymphatic Drainage further enhance the lasting effectiveness of my specialized massage.

During my IT career, what made me great at my job was my attention to detail and my passion for helping my customers by listening to their issues and providing education to help them understand the true issue and then resolving it. I like to work the same way with my clients. When they understand what is going on with their bodies, I help them feel empowered to make better choices and to make the small changes that positively impact their lives to live more pain free.
