My child needed to see a pedi GI for some issues she is having. I am a single mom that just started a new job. When I called to find out about her appointment I let them know her grandmother would be bringing her. The lady was SO RUDE telling me mom or dad had to be there. Sorry lady, dad isn’t in the picture and I have to work to afford the dr visit. I will recommend you run fast to another dr unless you wantedto be treated horribly by her staff!!!!

I have been referred to Dr V twice for two of my children. Both of which were only a couple months old. We were able to get appointments very quickly both times, and she was very informative. She spent nearly 45 mins with us just today. Evaluated my sons tongue for tongue tie, his stool for blood, examined his belly and even had me latch him to examine how he was nursing. She was able to help us make positional changes that have already helped improve his feedings! He is ALWAYS fussy at night and he is sound asleep now and hasnt fussed at all!! Her office staff was very polite, and we were in the waiting room less than 5 minutes!! We will return and will highly recommend Dr V!!

Money wasted. No diagnosis made and left us without a plan of action.

Greed. That's all I have to say about this doctor. We went last year to this clinic for my son for constipation. They didn't really tell me anything my regular doctor hadn't already had us try. Besides pretty much making him become a vegan. So the advice/service I received was mediocre at best. My husband and I left there saying we wouldn't return only because we could see our own doctor up here and felt they didn't have any other "expert" advice to add to this. When we left you have to check out and pay what is remaining of your visit bill. We had insurance at the time and the first amount she told me was around $181. And I told her no we had already met our deductible we should only owe 20% now. So she ran the numbers again which took about 30 minutes after calling my insurance company and confirmed the 20%, which some how was around $42. So my and their calculations must be different. I should have paid about $36 according to the first amount she asked me to pay. Well a… few months go by and I guess our insurance had been canceled a few days before we had gone. (we had no idea because my husband lost his job 2 days after we went to this doctor appt.) We got the first bill and I assumed it was a mistake because insurance had paid. Then we got another one, and within a week of our second bill we got a letter saying it needed to be paid in full or it would be going into collections. So I called to find out what was going on. The lady on the phone told me the insurance asked for a chargeback so we now owe the amount. Now here's where the greed factor takes place. Remember that $181 the lady told me to begin with on the day I went to the doctor? Yep that number magically bounced to $254! I asked for an explanation as to why and she couldn't really give me an explanation except how insurance companies get a discount. Well I'd be self pay, and USUALLY self pay patients get an even greater discount than an insurance company. I know this because I have been self pay enough to know how medical offices work. This was turned down immediately and I was told I needed to pay in full and that no payment plan could be made at this point because it was so late. Remember I had 2 months notice of this bill, so how is 60 days so late? Most companies give you 190 days before making this kind of stink. Needless to say I didn't have the whole amount that she needed, even after offering to make a payment that day and to continue to make payments on a continual bases it was denied. I only had one week before it would go into collections, so we let it go, there was nothing we could do. We were willing to make payments but they denied us. So fast forward 3 more months, it hit collections, I called and said I could pay it, but I want it at the amount we originally were told, $181, not this $254 that they couldn't even explain to me. Again, got denied. I also filed a bbb claim and they pretty much just ignored it like it meant nothing to them. They didn't try to contact me to resolve the issue or try to work with me one bit. So we decided we would just suck it up and save, then pay this debt off. Well, that's when today happened. I finally had the $254 to pay and was going to call it a loss. Nope not the case, I called up the collection agency and was ready to pay in full and they said, ok, so it will be $484!!!! WAIT WHAT???? She told me they have filed a judgment and you will be served. This has all happened within 7 months time from the time I started getting bills until the time they filed a judgment against us. I, being a customer who is willing to pay, has been turned down and now is willing to pay IN FULL as asked and now we have to pay DOUBLE what we first owed. Greedy....sad very sad, and what's worse is families in Arkansas have no other choice for their children. They are the ONLY provider in Arkansas for pediatric gastroenterology. Thank goodness my son's condition is not life threatening because I could never go to this office again in fear of how much money they are going to try to squeeze out of me. Sad, I really hope they change their practice of billing and allow people to make payments that they can afford, and not what is convenient for the office or doctor. I'm not even that upset about how much the original amount was, I had faced that they weren't budging and fine, but they fact that they were unwilling to allow a paying customer to make payments to avoid all of this is what is morally and ethically wrong with this company. Change needs to happen and I hope it does soon...I guess the next step is the board.

The absolute worst doctor I have ever been to in my life!! She should NOT be working with children! When my son continued to have problems she blamed him and us the parents instead of helping and even went so far as to speak to my son in a rude manner! The office staff is extremely rude on the phone and in person!!!

My son has seen Dr. Von since he was 4 months old. He has always been my (for lack of better terms) "defective" child. If it could go wrong with him, it has. At our first visit, she was able to help me understand the issues with my child and how to cope. She also found ways to treat him without any medication. She has helped with all his issues, spotted new ones and referred us to places for things that weren't "her problem" as a GI clinic. She is truly a life saver and a blessing to our family! We NEVER had long waits and office staff was very friendly! Most amazing clinic :) Thank you!! I now have a beautiful strong healthy 3 year old :)

Our experience with Dr. Vonlanthen was always pleasant. She's very experienced and always went above and beyond for our son.

In the beginning I thought she seemed caring and that she was up to date on treatments and medications. As time progressed and my daughter had flare ups she consistently blamed us of not giving her medication to her instead of trying a new course of therapy. Our pharmacy commented on how rude and difficult her office has been.

We waited 6 weeks to get in to see Dr. VonLanthen, then waited over 2 hours in her office. She was rude, not apologetic at all, and impatient with my 8 year old son who had at that point waited for 2 1/2 hours and missed lunch to see her. Her bedside manner was better on the day of his test, but it was her office staff that read his test results to me after 2 days of trying to reach them. Her staff has been quite rude on top of being very inefficient. We will not return.

This office has the worst personnel, from the front office to dr.vonl. I took my son to his appt only to be told he didn't have one. I asked to speak to the office mgr about THEIR scheduling error,but she would not take responsibility ,would not work my sick son in,refused to get a message to dr. vonl. We will NEVER go back. After this incident I started hearing similar stories from other parents.
