Great doctor all my children have seen her for the last 19 years now I would not trust anyone else she is amazing

Let's start with the office, it is less than inviting, there is not a lobby separation for ill vs well child, and the television ad playing in the background is obnoxious. The front desk staff is disconnected as the window is frosted and they lack professionalism. Now onto Dr. Penny. She is quick to judge or assume life styles without asking the parent or child first, also her practice of overbearingly encouraging healthy habits comes across more harmful than helpful to young children of vulnerable ages. Then there are her billing practices. Many of the medical bills contain errors, whether from erroneous charges, double billings or, in some cases, abusive charging practices. It’s no wonder that her patients are finding it difficult to trust her to charge fairly for their services and resorting to care at the local ER. To say the least seek another pediatrician who can be more confident in her skills and diagnoses rather than her ability to overcharge for care that is not warranted.

She is the BESTEST.

I took my newborn to penny and the first visit I told her I was not breast feeding by choice. I am 20 year old single mother and have never been to a pediatricians office, 4 days after a c section and she made me lift my shirt so she could put the baby on my breast. im having a hot flash, sitting on a hard bench with some lady I just met with shoving my kid on my breast while squeezing it. She insisted I breastfeed. My baby had very slight jaundice, so I agreed and started breastfeeding again. I did so and bottle fed as well for 2 weeks, then stopped again. breast feeding just wasn't for me and my baby. very stressful uncomfortable and her jaundice disappeared. Going back to my follow up appointments, she kept saying my baby was "too small" and kept scheduling appointments every week to weight her. I felt so profiled because of my age and parenting choices I felt the need to lie about not breastfeeding. I myself was a formula baby, so I know im not hurting her and breast fed long… enough to give her the colostrum and some. I am currently looking for a family physician. im tired of being judged every time I go in with my healthy baby. small people make small babies. enough said.

Dr. Penny is a awesome and caring person and great doctor. She was taking care of my three daughter for years. I recommand Dr Penny to anyone.

I have been taking my son to dr. penny for about a year (my son is 1 and a half) and she was ok. doctor office doesn't have any toys in its waiting room or the actual rooms or even kid friendly at all. kind of beach themed. she has a new practitioner or doctor working for her by the name of Easter and she is horrible. since she has been there she has been doing most of my sons visits. I asked her if my son was too young to be in a toddler bed and her response was "I'm sorry I cant answer that because I don't know what a toddler bed is." any questions I have asked she has pulled her phone out and "googled" the answers. I don't have a doctor for my self so one day when I took my son I had both penny and Easter in the room and I asked them both if they knew off the top of their head what it was because I was afraid I was going to give it to my son. they pulled their phones out and googled other rashes that looked like it and said just leave it alone and it will go away. now months later… I went to my ob-gyn because baby #2 is on the way and I still have the rash. come to find out its a fungal skin rash, it needed cream and it was contagious. I'm in the process of switching pediatricians now but they are all booked. would not recommend penny pediatrics to anyone until she gets rid of Easter and makes her office more kid friendly. the only reason I have stuck around as long as I have is her office staff is amazing! all of the young girls there are great with my son! best office staff I have seen!

I heard great things about Dr. Penny, so naturally being the mother that I am, wanting the best for my kids, I took my son to see her. The office is very nice, and kid friendly, yet professional. The wait time was not long, and the staff was very professional and caring, which is not something you see often in doctor offices. When I met Dr. Penny, she was very friendly and helpful in our situation. She was willing to work with my family and I to get the treatment needed for my son, I believe it is awesome when doctors show that they care, and don't just pop their head in the room and then leave the nurse to do all the work. She is an awesome doctor and I will be switching my daughter over to Dr. Penny shortly! Kuddos to you Dr. Penny!!!

very concerned

I took my daughter to see Dr. Penny as I have for the past year and half. She gave my daughter her 11yr old checkup. To my dismay, she suggested to put my daughter on HPV preventable pill. I was really taken back by this and actually offended. My 11 YEAR OLD! I simply replied there is no need for that. We continued the checkup and durning the visit I was asked yet a 3rd time being very persistant that my daughter needs this pill and it's the best interest for her. Excuse me? I think I know my daughter, and at 11 yrs old nothing of the nature is happening. I know we live in a world where everything goes and sometime we don't know our children the way we think or would like to. However, no doctor has the right to push a drug onto their patients just so they can benefit from it. I am more disappointed than anything. Be your childs advocate, as it seems the ones that should arent.
