Dr. Mathew Merrick Orme, MD

I will forever make an effort to persuade others to avoid the St. Vincent Fishers ER. Mathew Orme should not be in a working environment that involves other humans. He was rude, arrogant, completely dismissive and made a stressful situation worse. We were informed I would not be admitted and to move on. Within an hour later, my wife had to call 911 from our home and we went to another ER where I ended up staying for 48 hours before things were under control. It is absolutely baffling to me that someone of his nature, manner or people skills has a career involving care for others. St. Vincent should be disgusted to be associated with Mr. Orme and is fortunate that the other ER was able to compensate for his inabilities.

I have never felt more dismissed by a doctor until tonight. A student seen me first which was fine then Dr. Orme came in asked me did I fall. I explained to him my diagnosis and that this is what usually happens when I have an episode. He responded after pulling my left arm to the right to see if it hurt. I stated that hurt he then said I'm going to give you two medications and the nurse will be in to administer them. The nurse gave me the shots and asked what my pain level was. I told her a 10 she then not even 2 minutes later said do you feel any relief. I stated no. She asked what my pain level was when I arrived, I stated 10 and above. The nurse took my vitals and discharged me after asking me did the doctor come back by and see me. I stated no and she sent me on my way not even waiting to see if the medication they gave me worked. It did not I am still in pain and suffering because of the lack of care I received. He should have just checked to see what they give me when I… come there instead, he dismissed me, and the nurse was just as dismissive. I have never had such negative treatment at this hospital by any other doctor.
