Dr. Matilda Hagan, MD

Doubt she is even a Dr. No help for chronic GERD which turned into Esophagitis. Had to go to Urgent care who then sent me to ER as she was non-responsive to my calls and messages only to keep telling me to take the medicine she prescribed months before and which I repeatedly told her was not helping the GERD. As a result of her negligence I now have Esophagitis and a possible Peptic Ulcer.

Dr Hagan and her assistant, Bami, are the worst when it comes to giving the needed care to patients. I went in for pain and was sent for testing. For pain, I was told to go to the ER if it got to bad and Dr. Hagan just went around in circles when giving instructions on things. When test results came back, I wasn't called; instead I had to call and hunt down someone to give me the results. Bami, the assistant, gave me the results and then was unable to give me the accurate next step procedures. She would continuously say "I think Dr. Hagan said to do this" or "I will need to recheck to see what you should do". I asked for Dr. Hagan to call me to clarify what I needed to do and she NEVER called to clarify what I she wanted me to do after my tests were done. I had to contact another one of my doctors to read my results and continue on with my care. How sad that this GI doctor was so uncaring to not simply return a call and clarify what her assistant couldn't remember. Sad and… disrespectful.

My 10AM appointment has now turned into a 215PM appointment. Dr. Hagan and the team at Mercy could not care less. I listened to a nurse call button ringing for 10 minutes without a single caregiver in the hallway to answer it. This place and this doctor border on negligence. I will never recommend her or Mercy surgery center. They are both horrible.
