Dr. Matthew Bruce Mckay, MD

Not shocked to see how this Dr has treated patients so poorly over the last 10 years. The poor reviews are so similar to what we experienced with him today at St. Jude's ER. My mother was dismissed by him, shouted that he was the head honcho and when she inquired to speak with his supervisor and see another doctor he told her she couldn't speak to anyone higher. She has been in severe pain for 3 weeks. He has no bedside manner, no compassion. Why does Priovdence allow him to represent their hospital/brand?

Horrible bedside manner. I waited in ER with my son for 7 hours and had to ask 2-3 times to see the doctor. When my brother-in-law talked to him on the phone (also a doctor), McKay basically said “I really don’t care” when asked about medical issues regarding my son. When he walked away, I told him I wanted another doctor and he yelled back, “you can’t have another one. “. Complained to the head nurse, I will follow up with hospital admin. He’s rude and could care less. I don’t know why St Jude is letting work there. .

Seriously, this guy is a joke to medicine. He does not care about patients and their illnesses. This joke does the basic intake of a cbc and cmp, thats just routine. Wow guy, aren't u something. Went to the ER for breathing, heart and swallowing. Did he do an x ray of the chest to see for narrowing of air way? Nope. Perform EKG to check arrhythmias, pvc or AFib? Check BNP, troponin levels? Nope. Give IV for fluids loss from not able swallow? Nope. Check neck for lymph nodes? Nope. Do any imaging of the throat? Nope. See anyone else, a lvn would be better than this joke.. u SUCK Mckay!!

Dr. Was treated me really poorly it was a HI/ BYE VISIT AFTER I waited for about 5hrs for him. Gave me the wrong prescription. I got to the pharmacy and he didn't write s date time so I couldn't get any of the meds . Ugh I'm so upset at him now ..i'm upset and in pain

I cannot remember any family member ever being treated so poorly by a physician. He is just a terrible person.

Dr. McKay was very conscientious upon my arrival to the ER. I had tightness in my chest. He followed up with appropriate blood work, an EKG, blood pressure monitoring and an X-RAY. Aside from that, he didn't rush and asked many questions pertaining to my condition. He shared my test results with me, that thankfully were not troublesome.

Very condescending and unsympathetic. I don't think this guy likes his job.

My post surgery recovery following treatment by Dr McKay was terrific, no bad side effects from anesthesia like I'd had before. Recommended.

This doctor discharged me from the emergency room with a kidney stone blocking my ureter which effectively shut down my kidney. I ended up needed surgery 3 agonizing days later

Understandable that ER rooms get busy, but don't expect anything more than being treated as a bed number by this guy.
