 Why I chose to pursue a career in healthcare?:I chose to pursue a career in healthcare after a family member went to physician assistant school and explained the profession to me. I saw her studying electrocardiograms one day and was so intrigued by the cryptic, squiggly lines that I decided to learn more and began taking classes in anatomy and physiology. The more I learned about the human body, the more impressed I became with God's design and the more I wanted to continue learning. I pursued a career as a physician assistant because in medicine I found a profession in which I can take this information I have learned and apply it to relieve suffering and improve the lives of others.What I want my patients to know about me?:I spent the last four years working as a primary care provider in Texas and Alaska. I enjoy working through all manner of problems with my patients and helping them determine what is in their own best interest. I am passionate about patient autonomy and see …myself as a health advisor with a set of skills and knowledge that my patients can leverage to overcome acute illness and injuries, manage chronic problems, and optimize their health and functionality. I see all ages of patients and look forward to helping you optimize your health!What I do when I'm not seeing patients?:I enjoy spending time with my wife and children, hiking, singing, and reading books about medicine and Christian church history.
