Dr. Matthew Anderson, MD

I had moved back to Houston from Arkansas. I saw 4 doctors there, none of which helped me. When I had my first appointment at Baylor they literally flew into action. I had my cancer diagnosis and the physician I saw first excitedly told me she got me in to see Dr. Anderson. My first visit Dr. Anderson spent almost 3 hours with me and my husband. He answered all questions. He asked questions. He answered the same question asked in 3 different ways and never said a word or seemed annoyed. Dr. Anderson scheduled my surgery for 2 weeks later. After my surgery, for the first time in almost 3yrs, I was not in excruciating pain. 2 months later he set me up at Kirby Glen Radiology and never did I feel like I could not call him. Never did I call and not get a call back from him. I have been cancer free for almost 18months. Every follow up visit he treated me the same as he did the first time I saw him. I never felt shame. I never felt judged. I always felt cared for. Imo he's… better than all the rest.

Dr. Matthew Anderson is the most caring and competent physician that I have ever met. He gives you all the time in the world during appointments. His extensive background in research contributes to his innovative and cutting edge approach to treatment.His compassionate attitude,no matter how grave the diagnosis,gives his patients hope.

Dr. Anderson has been very proactive and aggressive with treatment since my cancer diagnosis and surgery 10 years ago now. He continues to show concern and compassion and makes me feel like the luckiest patient . I feel like I am still cancer free because of him.

I would absolutely recommend Dr. Anderson to anyone who was in need of his services. For my initial appointment, when I was still in shock from my diagnosis, he spent a lot of time answering all our questions and we had a great rapport. He did a thorough exam and explained the surgery I would have, and all the possible outcomes. We even managed to have a laugh--something I hadn't done in days. I really appreciate the fact that he will follow-up with me in the coming years. The only problem I had with him was, on a follow up appointment I had to wait in the exam room for almost an hour. The only reason I wasn't upset by it was the fact that I remembered how much time he spent with me initially, and apparently, someone else needed lots of time, too. FYI: I consulted MDA and the doctor there was dismissive, flippant, and I felt as though I would just be another body to her. She had her nurse practitioner examine me; when I asked when she could do surgery, she said, "1-3 weeks,… maybe 3-6 weeks"--what kind of answer is that? She spent the most time talking about a clinical trial she wanted me to participate in. No thank you.

Dr. Anderson is one of the most considerate and gentle physicians I have met. He has been deeply respectful of me and my concerns about having an exam. I would recommend him without question.

I was violated during an exam. During a pelvic exam, he told me he needed to do a rectal exam and I said "NO" and he proceeded anyway. I was so alarmed and shocked I couldn't even react. I have to seek professional help just to be able to close my eyes.

Dr Anderson is the best Gynecologic Oncologist I have seen. He is caring, great bedside manner, and very thorough. Every concern I mention, he addresses and doesnt just blow me off. My previous doctors it was like pulling teeth to have any tests done or questions answered. Dr Anderson either orders a lab to address the situation or will explain in depth to me what the problem is and what options I have to deal with it. Major plus too is that he actually reads the chart before walking in the room and will ask something like "so how are the kids?" or something we discussed prior visit. It's sad how many doctors don't do that.

I moved here from out of state 4 years ago with cervical cancer recovery. Dr Anderson was thorough and ordered tests my previous doctors wouldnt. He has great bedside manner and very knowledgeable. Would recommend him in a heartbeat!

Dr. Anderson is the kind of doctor a woman really hopes for when she is scared & worried. I found he asked ques- tions, listened, let me ask questions, answered in detail, never made me feel he was in a hurry, explained the diagnosis so that I understood & was verykind. He followed up & has been diligent in making sure I am better and better. What a really special doctor - Worth waiting for an appointment!
