Dr. Matthew Todd Ankrum, DDS

I have never been so impressed with a doctor in my life and I’m a senior adult. Dr. Ankrum explained every step he was performing and how it would feel. He noted upfront that root canals do not have to be painful and he was right. I could hardly believe when it was over. I also expected to have that annoying numbness through the next day but it was gone by bedtime. He and his assistant were efficient and made an excellent team. I can hardly believe I am talking about what a great experience having a root canal was!!!

After reviewing my insurance coverage I was told that a root canal retreatment would cost me $412.90, which I paid at the time of the initial service. Two and a half months later I received a bill for an additional $927.97. I also had significant pain following a popping sound in the middle of the waiting period between the initial work and completing the treatment, which remains unexplained. I am experiencing intermittent pain in the tooth still, but I will have to find another endodontist that I can trust to complete the work.

Both the doctor and his staff made me feel at ease. Excellent bedside manner, in addition to expertise in his field.
