I moved from New Jersey to California after graduating from medical school to complete my postgraduate training. I was attracted to both the wonderful weather and the exciting educational programs in California. I am very glad I made the decision. I completed my residency in psychiatry at UCSD, where I was chief resident in my final year of training. After residency, I joined Kaiser Permanente in San Diego.

Beware with this quack!! He is a very dangerous provider. He places people at risk for severe depression by the way he treats them. This is my opinion based on the treatment he gave my family member.

I went to see Dr Becker 20 yes ago suffering from severe depression at the time. He listened to my concerns AND feelings, and treated me with great respect and care. He helped educate me about my mental concerns and worked with me to find a medication & therapy balance that supports me to this day. He is approachable and caring and his nurse has always responded quickly when I called. I have absolutely nothing but wonderful things to say about this clinician.

He should be reported to the medical board and not be allowed to practice. He is dangerous, doesn't care for you or his job. Avoid him, he is a danger to patients.

This Dr. fraudulently wrote things in my chart I had never said. He, rudely hung up the phone on me. Very unprofessional.

Avoid! I’ve NEVER encountered such a dangerous & low level of care for others & their role.From the start he was combative & annoyed. He didn’t let me finish a sentence without cutting me off. Many times he said he didn’t need to explain it. I asked how the medication works he wanted to prescribe. With an attitude he responded “you don’t ask how an antibiotic works”. In fact I do. He said,I don’t know him & he is okay if people don’t like him. He was mad i was asked questions regarding my own mental health.He needs to stop practicing immediately.

Horrible experience, he did not want to listen to the patient, was extremely rude and did not want to spend more than 10 mins and said he doesnt have time to explain anything and to go ahead and file a complaint against him. I am so shocked by this attitude of a psychiatrist whena patient in need is being treated so negatively.

I have great respect for Dr Becker. He saw me through a severe, medication resistant depression when other doctors were recommending ECT. He listens to what I have to say and involves me in my own treatment.
