I am sharing my experience to help others who are considering breast augmentation and to emphasize how important clear communication and patient involvement are in this process. I had previously undergone breast augmentation, so I was somewhat familiar with the process. During my consultation for this surgery, the surgeon asked if I wanted a lift. I assumed this referred to the typical lift procedure involving repositioning of the nipples, which I had done before. However, the lift itself was never clearly explained to me in terms of technique, expectations, or outcomes. Looking back, I do not feel I was given enough information to make a fully informed decision. At a later appointment, I met with a nurse to go over sizing. I did not remember my current implant size and was told the surgeon could look that up. I was asked to provide three sizes I would be interested in and encouraged to bring photos of results I liked. I brought several photos from RealSelf to help communicate my… goals and expectations. On the day of surgery, my experience became even more concerning. When the surgeon entered the room, he initially called me by the wrong name. After I corrected him, he reviewed my paperwork. I asked if he had confirmed my current implant size and told him I would like to discuss sizing. He responded that he would decide what size would look best on my body, rather than involving me in the decision. I also mentioned that I had brought photos and asked if he would look at them. He said he could look at them but commented that he could not make me look like my “idols.” The interaction felt dismissive and discouraging. He then briefly examined me, lifted my breast with a marker, drew a line underneath it, and stated that it would sag. The way this was handled felt abrupt and unprofessional, and I was left feeling shocked and uncomfortable. I was in tears as I was taken back for surgery. My postoperative experience was also difficult, including a significant infection that required additional care. Eventually, another doctor at the surgery center took over my case, which I appreciated. Now, I am experiencing sagging and ongoing pain, which has been both physically and emotionally distressing. I am very unhappy with my final results and do not feel that my expectations were understood or that I was an active participant in decisions about my own body. Overall, I did not feel heard, respected, or fully informed throughout this process. I strongly encourage anyone considering surgery to make sure their surgeon takes the time to thoroughly explain procedures, listen to their goals, and involve them in all decisions before moving forward.

I chose Dr. Camp because he offered fat grafting to address bags under my eyes. It was touted as a less invasive procedure than blepharoplasty. The result, unfortunately, was that the fat under my left eye did not absorb properly. Dr. Camp provided several injections of a steroid to break up the “scar tissue”, but this intervention did not work. Finally, he referred me to another plastic surgeon who told me the only option left was to undergo blepharoplasty. Dr. Camp was unwilling to refund any of my fees, and I am left with the only option of paying for blepharoplasty with another provider, which was the whole point of choosing Dr. Camp in the first place. Needless to say, my face is asymmetrical and I am very unhappy with the result.

Dr. Camp proved to be a wonderful gift! I am an older woman wanting to look better. He was everything I could have hoped for - professional, but kind, answered all questions and offered helpful advice, very thorough and respectful. I would say the same about all his staff I encountered. This group is very organized and use excellent infection control practices, which is even more important in the current environment. I am so pleased with my results and grateful to have found Dr. Camp.

Dr. Camp is very talented and did a fabulous job on my facelift and fat grafting. I would highly recommend him to anyone considering getting this type of procedure done.
