Dr. Matthew Conti, MD

Dr. Matthew S. Conti is an orthopedic surgeon specializing in foot and ankle surgery and treats a wide range of both non-operative and operative foot and ankle issues. He is also an Assistant Professor of Orthopedic Surgery at Weill Cornell Medical College. Dr. Conti attended college at the University of Notre Dame and spent a year studying at the University of Oxford in England. He obtained his medical degree from Weill Cornell Medical School. Dr. Conti completed his orthopedic surgery residency at HSS and his foot and ankle fellowship training at the prominent OrthoCarolina Foot & Ankle Institute in Charlotte, NC. Dr. Conti's research interests include improving and optimizing surgical outcomes in foot and ankle orthopedics. His work has been recognized nationally and internationally. In 2014, he was awarded the prestigious American Orthopaedic Foot and Ankle Society (AOFAS) J. Leonard Goldner Award for his research. Dr. Conti has received numerous internal and external grants to …fund his research including an Orthopaedic Research and Education Foundation (OREF) grant. He is the author of over 30 peer-reviewed scientific publications and has authored multiple book chapters in foot and ankle orthopedics. He was selected by the AOFAS to participate in the Orthopaedic Research Society Clinician Scholar Career Development Program. Dr. Conti is an active member of the AOFAS and American Academy of Orthopaedic Surgeons (AAOS). As part of the AOFAS Young Physicians Committee, he created the 'AOFAS Resident Lecture Podcast Series' and is the chair of the Podcast Task Force. He is also a member of the AOFAS Post Graduate Education & Training Committee. In 2004, Dr. Conti founded the non-profit organization Our Hearts to Your Soles. Our Hearts to Your Soles provides medical care and shoe wear to impoverished men and women across the United States, and to date, has distributed over 40,000 pairs of shoes through their annual nationwide Thanksgiving events.
