He is the UNOS/OPTN Past President. He is a member of the Board of Directors for several national organizations. As a transplant surgeon, I believe that exceptional patient care begins with understanding that every patient is far more than a diagnosis. Each individual brings a unique story, set of values, and personal goals that deserve to guide every aspect of their care.. My philosophy is rooted in patient-centered care, where clinical excellence is matched by compassion, transparency, and partnership. I am committed to delivering evidence-based, technically excellent surgical care while recognizing that optimal outcomes depend on a multidisciplinary approach. Transplantation is one of the most complex and life-changing experiences. I strive to ensure patients and their families feel informed, respected, and empowered throughout every stage of their journey-from initial evaluation and shared decision-making to surgery, recovery, and lifelong follow-up. Open communication, honesty, and empathy are essential to building the trust that underpins successful transplant care.

Ensuring Data Transparency and Trust: A Guide to Vitals Doctor Listings and Reviews

Our provider data is gathered directly from physicians and publicly available databases. Providers who verify their profiles gain the ability to update information, offering additional details about their specialties, education, treated conditions, performed procedures, and accepted insurances.

Reviews on Vitals are submitted by users only. Recognizing the valuable insights these reviews offer into a doctor's reputation, we maintain internal policies and protocols to ensure the quality and accuracy of all reviews. Importantly, providers cannot delete or alter reviews independently. Reviews can only be deleted or changed following an internal assessment by our customer service team.

Your feedback is highly valued and we encourage you to contact our support team should you encounter any issues.
