Dr. Matthew Dashnaw, MD

I met Dr. Dashnaw rather quickly, and it was very unplanned. I fell at home back in February and decided to go to the ER because the dizziness wasn't going away the next day. I was admitted and an MRI was ordered. Cancerous brain lesions were found in my head. I was of course, upset, but considered this a blessing in disguise because had I not fallen, there would be no reason to look inside my head. Dr. Dashnaw was assigned to me (thank you God) and he came in and prayed over me with the chaplain before my biopsy surgery. To say I was touched, is an understatement. He told me he does everything with God by his side. This is very comforting when you are basically beside yourself as I was! If you need a neurosurgeon, THIS is your guy! You are in amazing hands. Read the reviews! I was in the hospital for a week, then sent home. I had 6 weeks of radiation and chemo pills, a month off, then another MRI and am taking chemo pills 5 days per month now for maintenance and I'm… feeling great. I will be "watched" for a very long time and that's OK with me! Thank you Dr. Dashnaw! JD

Dr. Dashnaw put the bone flap back in my fiancee Eric head, Dr. Dashnaw is the absolute best, he is exceptional in his field of study & the greatest compassionate Doctor that we've ever had the pleasure of meeting. He is the epitome of what a great doctor should be. Excellent people skills, attentive listener and problem solver and leaves you rest assured that all your questions and concerns were addressed. Very knowledgeable and also has common sense. Cannot say enough great things about him and my husband and me were very pleased with him. If you’re like most people and googling reviews about doctors to find the right one then look no more because he will not disappoint and is one of the best neurosurgeons in the area!

Dr Dashnaw is a great. I had surgery in Oct 2016. Also, had it again in Jan 2017. I was in the hospital for 3 months. Dr. Dashnaw came to see me at the hospital, to be sure I was healing correctly, after my fist surgery(Oct 2016). Dr. Dashnaw had to take apart my skull, to release the compression on my brain. Then in Jan 2017, he had to put my skull back together. After 3 months in the hospital's, and 3 months of learning to remember names of things, and walking, and home care for myself. I am out out of the Hospital, 3.20.18, feeling like myself again. All because of My Dr. Dr. Dashnaw fixed me! Good Dr. Great to speak to; easy to understand. KRLaClair Rochester, NY

Very cordial-greeted myself and family in waiting room before taking us to his office which is not the norm. Asked questions as to why I was there, showed us my MRI and explained his thoughts and options I would have. We left the office very satisfied with the visit.
