Dr. Matthew R Dicaprio, MD

My experience dates back 10 years to my first surgery to remove a growth in my leg. Three days after discharge, my leg was twice it's size from fluid buildup dispite cleaning the site as directed. After he saw it, it was wrapped agonizingly tightly and I was told to go home and rest. I found a new dr after that, however, she unfortunately retired in 2016, forcing me to return to his practice. Drove an hour to his Albany office for one appointment after waiting a year for said appointment, only to be told he wasn't in that office that day of the week, ever, and I shouldn't have recieved that appointment. Luckily I had the written appointment card with me, because the staff accused me of lying about what day I was supposed to be there. Frequent ridiculously long wait times (I was in the waiting area for an hour after my appointment was scheduled, and only put in a room for another 30 minutes after attempting to leave), a horrible attitude and constant condescending tone later,… told me results which could have been done on the phone and didn't schedule me again.

Dr. DiCaprio is one of the finest doctors and diagnosticians I have seen in the capital region. He is a brilliant man and highly respected in his field. I had been misdiagnosed by another doctor and with proper treatment from Dr. DiCaprio, I am feeling better than I've felt in years and feel blessed to have found him. I am receiving the best of care, relieving me of having to travel to NY or Boston. I adamantly disagree with any negative reviews.

Bottom line, he saved my leg, we trusted him with my life & that was the correct decision .

Great diagnostician, explained my child's surgical procedure in length. Outstanding surgeon.

Easy to talk to, very professional, staff very professional, replaced my left knee and after therapy responds to all activities I enjoy. A talented and compassionate Doctor, you will not be disappointed inchoosing him.

Follow up was NEVER- It was the wort experience I have ever had. The office was upside down. They lost records and he had not even reviewed my case before I arrived. IT was totally unacceptable.

Avoid him at all costs. He is arrogant and a horrible surgeon. He performed knee surgery on me and when I told him something was wrong following the surgery he dismissed my complaints and told me to go see another dr. Really!!!!! You screw up a surgery then want someone else to fix it.

STAY FAR AWAY. Don't listen to the good reviews, probably made up. Arrogant, rude, disrespectful. Tried to do surgery that was not needed. He is in it for the money and nothing else. please make sure you do your research before choosing him.

He's one of the best doctors I have ever seen. He's a brilliant surgeon and knows what he's doing. Without him I wouldn't have gotten my tumor removed nor have full use of my arm after elbow replacement . His assistant Brad is also great, I broke my arm and he dropped everything he was doing to be at the hospital when I arrived

Over the last 2 and years I have seen this doctor for my shoulder, I have had 2 shoulder surgeries with this man and each time he touches me it gets worse. I wish he never touched me because he is incompetent doctor. Wish his PA Brad was the Doctor like another poster said.Spends no time with the patient, spends even less time after surgery. The guy is so bad he can't even look me in the eye when talking to me.
