Dr. Matthew Dye, MD

Dr. Matt Dye was an inappropriate and condescending physician. While clearly he has not been in practice for long, what he lacks in quality and substance, he more than makes up for in ignorance of human beings. And so the lies started -- saying that the doctors there at the hospital would figure out the problem -- what was causing the high BP, increased thirst and fatigue, and chest aches. However, the patient was admitted and then discharged several days later (after receiving numerous tests, pokes, and insufferable questions) without ever receiving a diagnosis. Why lie to a patient? If you don't know, don't expect your colleagues to bail you out when your first thoughts prove insufficient in the diagnosis process. And don't get the patient's hopes up just to make them feel miserable and inadequate because you and your colleagues cannot do your job. Next, Dr. Dye lied to the patient about being able to leave after basic testing was completed in the ER. When all lab work and… tests were completed, Dr. Dye failed to follow on his promise of discharge, even after the patient told Dr. Dye of her concern over the cost of finances and lack of decent insurance (due to company change to HSA plan). Finally, Dr. Dye had expressed an interest in reviewing patient's skin ailments and had instructed patient to get undressed (remember, patient thought she was going home) so the skin ailments (hidradenitis) could be more properly examined. He never returned. 3rd lie. Three strikes and you are out, Dr. Dye. What a poor excuse for a physician. Should you ever end up in JMH in Abingdon VA, and should a man by the name of Matthew Dye come up to you, ask for a different physician. You will be lied to and you will wait for an exam that does not happen and you will be mistreated. That's what you can count on when Dr. Dye is your doctor.
