Dr. Matthew Paul Fiesta, MD

Do not waste your time here if you have a complex medical history! I was never able to see Dr Fiesta because my appointments kept getting canceled without even a phone call. The first appointment was cancelled without me being notified due to the staff only reading the “insurance diagnostic code” and not the reason for the referral. I have Osteogenesis Imperfecta, which anyone that can do a quick google search can find the evidence of vascular anomalies associated with OI and collagen shy disorders. In addition I have eagles syndrome with Internal jugular vein compression. I have also had 2 TIAs before the age of 35, how is my case not something they treat? I had to call to find out it was cancelled and they said he does not treat my disorder he only treats vascular issues in the head and neck. Which is EXACTLY why I was referred to him. I finally get the neck flexion venogram done and a new appointment scheduled with Dr Fiesta. Once again without anyone calling me, my second… appointment was cancelled. In the notes Dr Fiesta said he had reviewed the head and neck venogram where he sees nO aBnoRMaLiTy. HOW when I am holding the report from the hospital noting the vascular compression from UTSW? They were not able to treat which is why I was referred to a Vascular specialist to seek treatment options (at least this was my understanding). Did Dr Fiesta actually look at my images? Even I can see the compression and Im not a vascular doctor. Or did he see my medical history of vascular fragility and not have the expertise to take on my case.? If you can’t handle my issue call and tell me that. Are your patients not worth a 5 minute phone call to explain? None of this was answered, so I can only assume….. The only reason I found out my appointment was cancelled was because I forgot my password to the portal and called to reset the account. I know every office is busy and I am actually very understanding but it is unacceptable to not communacate to the patient not to show up for their upcoming appointment. I wouldn’t be so upset if it hadn’t happened twice. It feels as if from the start this office did not want to treat me and looked for any excuse to get me off the schedule. If you have a complex health history this is clearly not the group to see. Being chronically ill is exhausting enough as it is, I don’t appreciate my time being wasted.

Dr. Fiesta is professional and explains results and disease processes in a simple, easy to understand manner. Listens well to concerns and questions. The staff at the office was also very friendly and welcoming. Overall, very impressed with the care I received!
