Dr. Matthew Gaines Freeman, MD

We have been seeing Dr. Freeman for over ten years now. He has seen us through all manner of conditions, from the common cold to major depression, getting us to the right specialist in less than a week for our son to be tested for ASD/ADHD, and so much more. He didn't give me a sermon on "pill seeking" when I was in a really dark place and needed help to just get out of bed and be productive. He has always been kind and generous with his time and thorough with his treatment of our entire family. Could not be more satisfied with a family physician. Oh, and Roll Tide!

We have experienced several times where we have called or even went in to see dr.matthew freeman only to get attitude from his medical assistant Casey who portrays herself as a nurse. A sign at the front desk states they can fire you from there practice if you say anything to there staff even if its a legitimate complaint. No one seems to want to send your call to the physician when you request a call specifically from the doctor. It is a shame we have been using this group for 10+ years. Patient care is not first for this office staff who has changed several times over the years. We have decided that since our physician cannot return a call to speak with myself that we will leave the group and the only way we know to let others be aware of how the office staff treat the patients is to post here for those who look for a family doctor. A doctor is just one person but his staff can make or break your visit. This office staff is rude to say the least.

He has been my doctor for many years, Him and His Brother are both awesome doctors they really listen to you and take the time with you and listen to your needs and get whats best for you and not just give you random medication.

Dr. Freeman has provided the best care I have had yet. He is kind, courteous and always makes me feel at ease. I am able to communicate with him easily. I highly recommend Dr. Freeman.

I'm delighted to have found Dr. Freeman for our family doctor. He is kind, compassionate, intelligent and really listens.

We are fortunate in the Prattville area to have local physician's office that remains a separate entity, not part of "Box Store Medicine" like most of the other parts of the country. Few physicians run their own practices anymore, which in my opinion contributes to the "Fast Food" reputation of medicine today. I see him every six months for wellness visits and he always takes the time to sit and talk with me as a patient and person. He is a great communicator and anyone that is an effective communicator knows that putting someone at ease, is important. I'm happy the Freeman family of physicians are set up in business here in Prattville. I am from a very large city originally and if you want to see medicine on a mass production basis, try seeing one that works for one of the large "Medicine Mills" as I call them. I say keep up the good work and continue developing a working relationship with and knowing your patients, it's as American as apple pie and baseball. I'm glad he takes the… time to know me as a patient and I know if I should cross paths with him in public, he will know me as a person, not a patient.

I am not disputing any of the positive experiences that anyone else has had with Dr. Freeman. I myself have never seen him, but have been frustrated by his inadequate treatment of a family member, and lack of responsiveness to expressed concerns. He must be excellent at treating essentially healthy people, because he appears well-liked. However, if you or your loved one has a major illness you may find that pleasant chit-chat about UA football is not adequate treatment. Thank goodness his office is conveniently located close to I-65 north and the road to medical excellence.
