Dr. Matthew Jon Gargulinski, DO

NO STAR! 10/30/25: If you're elderly person or have below medium pain tolerance, I'll NOT recommend seeing Matthrew Gargulinski for Othopetic/ doctor services. My mother has been in hospital for 7-days; the diagnosis to identify 5 MAJOR issues seems prolong due to inadequate care services. The cardiac doctor wanted to wait till the knee was addressed before proceeding with stint surgery. After day 6 and no confirmed knee diagnosis or treatment plan they elected to proceed with the heart surgery. She communicated with him on multiple occasions about her knee pain triggering cardiac event concerns from knee treatment services. He elected to proceed with treatment that resulted in MAJOR pain which resulted in her screaming in the hospital and crying for an hour. He elected to stomp out of room with a MAJOR attitude towards my mother and daughter in the room.

My aunt had broken her hip and Dr. Gargulinski fixed it for her and she has recovered wonderfully. So when I tore my ACL I knew who to go to! Dr. Gargulinski was able to repair (reconstruct) my knee and also help me find a good rehab center to go to. 6 months later I am back to my normal self and if it wasn't for the scars (which are very small by the way) I would not even know which knee was injured! He is also so kind and even drew diagrams for me to help explain exactly what was injured and what he would do to fix it. If you have a choice I highly recommend going to Dr. Gargulinski!

I went to see Doctor Gargulinski to look at my MRI report. I am in a great deal of pain at my C spin by my back bone and shoulder blade. It is pinching all the time. It is difficult to turn my neck. I dredge getting in the car to drive. I get mussel spasms and numbness in my finger tips on my left hand. I am miserably most of the time. My complaint is that he would not even look over the report and explain any of the findings to me but only to tell me there is nothing he can do for me and to go home and do yoga and stretches. I spent the money to come and see him to hopefully at least, have him read the MRI to me. But no luck.

Dr. Gargulinski was very clear about what to expect during the recovery phase of my knee replacement resulting in no surprises.

My primary doctor refered me to another orthopedic doctor, but after that office visit and being told 2 weeks later that surgery would be another 6 weeks I started looking for another doctor. Found Dr G, made an appointment for the following day and surgery the following week. He listened to my questions and told me all my options. His staff of Amanda and Avis are absolutely fabulous. No question, he's your doctor.

Dr. Gargulinski was amazing! The doctor was very thorough and made time to speak to you about the needs of your particular issue. The first day I went into see him I was diagnosed quickly and thoroughly and then the very next day had surgery on my wrist. He did an amazing job with the surgery and I healed very well. The ladies who also work in the office Amanda at the front was amazing and Avis who assisted the doctor was also very caring and very thorough in my check ups and x-rays.

I was able to walk the day after surgery, and returned to normal activity in two weeks. I was playing golf in five weeks.

Maybe the lack of follow through is because of the office staff, but it took me 2 months to get a visit, xray, follow up for xray, MRI ordered, and follow up for MRI. I was in pain and dysfunction this entire time. I also had to keep calling this office to get the necessary referrals - no one would follow up. After all of this Dr. G said he couldn't help me and he would give me a referral to a different specialist. Two weeks went by without anyone calling me. So I called them and his nurse said that he was waiting to hear back from me! Lousy communication in that office. Plus the doctor actually hurt me when giving me a shot that I'd been given by PA's at other orthopedics offices with no problem. Weird. I like the doctor's personality but would worry if I needed surgery with him. He was at least honest and told me that he could try surgery for me but did not believe it would help.

Dr. Gargulinski did two of my surgeries in a 4 month period and I am very pleased. I give him 5 stars. Sometimes patient have to understand what a particular surgery will do for them and what it won't do and be educated in making a decision to do surgery or not. I believe a doctor should not push his patient into surgery but help the patient to make an informed decision, especially if there are other options other than surgery that you can try first. Surgery is not always the answer no matter how desperate you are to fix the pain. I liked the way Dr. Gargulinski handled my specific case and he supported my decisions to have surgery. Dr. Gargulinski educated me on my condition, we talked about the pros & cons of surgery and I also educated myself so I knew what I could expect after surgery and if it would help me. Dr. Gargulinski has a different way of doing things and I like that compared to other doctors I have seen. I have been in pain for years and other doctors really left me to… fend for myself without much help but Dr. Gargulinski has been excellent to me. I would recommend him to anybody.

I was referred by my PCP's office and have only had one visit so far... I have severe pain in my knee caused by osteo arthritis, bone on bone with several bone spurs. Dr. Gargulinski said he thought I needed a knee transplant but felt at 54, I was too young. The only option he presented was a cortizone injection. Since my appt I have talked with several QA sufferers and done a lot of research on the net. I have learned that there are several other options that may be better and longer term solutions than cortizone injections. I have to say, for a doctor who specializes in sports medicine, I am very disappointed in his limited view of treatment options.
