Dr. Matthew Charles Gill, MD

My experience with Dr. Matthew Gill was shockingly unprofessional and easily the worst interaction I have ever had with a physician. After waiting months for surgery, Dr. Gill canceled my procedure simply because I requested propofol anesthesia — something I have safely undergone during approximately 35 prior surgeries without a single complication. Rather than acting like a calm, rational medical professional, he became confrontational, arrogant, and emotionally reactive. He speculated that I may have malignant hyperthermia despite no diagnosis, no supporting medical history, and no prior anesthesiologist ever raising such a concern. My surgeon later confirmed there has never been a single surgical event supporting Dr. Gill’s claim. What was most alarming was that multiple nurses reportedly questioned his decision and stated there was no medical reason to cancel my surgery. Despite this, Dr. Gill refused to reconsider and permanently inserted unsupported opinions into my medical… file. Patients deserve physicians guided by evidence, professionalism, and common sense — not ego, intimidation, and irrational decision-making.
