It isn’t often that you cross paths with a surgeon who is every part brilliant as he is kind. Dr Hansman cared for my mom following a diagnosis of overactive para thyroid gland and abnormal nodule in thyroid. From the very first appointment he took time to answer all her questions in a manner that showed respect and compassion for the patient. He spoke to my mom in fluent spanish, answered follow up calls from our family easing our concerns. An absolute gem. We feel very fortunate to have him as part of my mothers medical team.

Dr. Matthew Hansman obviously loves working with his patients and is proud of his team. He logically arranges facts so he and we come to the same conclusions. He included me as the husband while keeping his focus on my wife as his patient. My wife has several years of unremarkable mammogram screens for Breast Cancer. However, the screening Radiologist this year compared the findings to a year ago and referred my wife along a path to Dr. Hansman. In our meeting with Dr. Hansman it was apparent that he had studied and understood my wife's record. He used logic to make sense of the diagram of his fact-based differential diagnosis. He took us efficiently step-by-step through the reasonable expectations of his treatment pathway. He took a "you-may-have-heard-of" treatments and side-effects. He then explained why only a few serve a logical role in my wife's treatment. Dr. Hansman made the referral to add an oncologist to the team. He asked us to schedule surgery for a date 2 weeks out, and… personally walked us to the door. Dr. Hansman, Thank you for your service!

Doctor Hansman is wonderful. He is very knowledgable, competent and caring. He preformed thyroid surgery on me and was very mindful of the location and size of incision to lessen scarring. He was sure to leave as much healthy thyroid tissue intact so the chance of me having to take medication long term would be decreased. I would highly recommend him for general surgery needs.

Dr. Hansman spent so much time explaining my diagnosis of breast cancer- more than even my oncologist did. My husband and I are grateful for his attention. My surgery went very well and his follow up visits are wonderful. After having the "initial" problem, he offers a lot of supportive after care. What an awesome man. We will always be thankful for his attention and skill.

Dr. Hansman was the surgeon oncall when my wife had an emergency appendectomy. He did everything perfectly, from good bedside manner, follow up care, thoroughness of explaining procedure. In the process he also repaired a hernia my wife had had unsuccessfully treated by another surgeon years ago. It was a constant bother to her especially during her pregnancy with our first two kids. The repair he did has been remarkable and now pregnant with our third child and she has no problems. From the point of view of a healthcare professional, I couldn't think of how any part of my wife's experience oculd have gone better. My family will be going to Dr. Hansman if we need a surgeon in the future.

Dr. Hansman cared. He gave my husband great medical care with his ruptured appendix and the follow up care was exceptional too. I would recommend him in a heartbeat!
