Dr. Matthew John Hofeldt, MD

Had to have corrective surgery after he severed the vagus nerve while doing stomach surgery. He not only paralyzed my stomach, but he left a huge pouch of stomach that was just holding rotten food not being digested. If you value your health at all, stay away from this man.

I got a second opinion. I’m glad that I did.

Dr. Hofeldt is an excellent surgeon. I had colon surgery and was home in 2 days. Everyone in Huntington, WV who I talk to say he is the best.

If you need surgery, stay away from this man. He botched up a family member’s surgery so badly that they will now have to stay on medication for the rest of their life. My advice is to go to Cleveland Clinic or another reputable hospital instead of the surgeons around here.

He was aggravated that she wasn’t in the exam room and when she made her way back, he told her that nothing was wrong and to see her gastroenterologist. My mother spent two weeks in the hospital only to find out that her surgery had paralyzed her stomach. Dr. Hofeldt didn’t bother to see her. I would never recommend anyone to him. He has ruined my mother’s life.

Would recommend this doctor to anyone who need surgery. So pleased with the outcome of my surgery. Very easy to communicate with.

I would absolutely recommend Dr. Hofeldt to friends and family. He recently did my surgery and I am glad I was referred to him. He is very courteous and professional, and he has been great about following up with me afterwards.

Dr Hofeldt is a wonderful doctor. I would recommend him to anyone needing surgery, knowing they would receive the best possible medical care. He is up to date on procedures, and let's you know he is concerned about you, not only as a patient but as a person. I would not think of going to any other surgeon and only hope he will stay in this area.
