Dr. Matthew Scott Johnson, MD

Have been going to Dr Johnson for many years, I have had no problems and his staff is knowledgeable. If he has concerns about any problems, he will refer you to a specialist and his office will make the appt for you. Some may think he does not spend enough time with his patients, but he answers my questions, looks into my problems and takes all the time he needs.

Mathew S. Johnson appears to be all of the above. I have discussed his actions with my health insurance provider and they recommend filing complaints against him and offered to start the process for me. I have seen Johnson for most of a year but he still has not controlled my blood sugar. I am a stroke victim and heart patient and must have controlled blood sugar to prevent another stroke or heart attack. He acts like he doesn't know the four types of Neuropathy therefore he doesn't know the symptoms and has no clue how to confirm diagnosis in each category. His clinic sent my blood to their own lab in Derby the first time. I told them to start using my insurance approved lab because theirs is not approved. The next time they did send to my approved lab but claim was denied because filed under wrong ID number and address. They used that as an excuse to use their lab again on my third appointment instead of refiling the denied claim correctly. His skinny, blonde, female… chauvinist assistant has been hostile from first appointment. They don't wear photo ID badges so I don't even know their names. I have many health problems, most related to diabetes. I listed them all on the new patient intake form but he can't even control my blood sugar let alone anything else. I intend to cancel my next appointment and allow my insurance to start the complaint process. I have no use for Johnson and his staff. I can not make myself go there again. Good riddance to Matthew Johnson, his obnoxious female chauvinist assistant and his disfunctional clinic staff.

Dr. Johnson does an excellent job of diagnosis, he considers both the patient and the symptom, and when it falls outside his expertise send you to a credible resource.

He works at quick pace however we have found him to be professional and knowledgeable.

I was misdiagnosed by him and then when I found out what was really wrong with me and let him know he said I was wrong. I then switched doctors and said "this is what's wrong with me" and their response was, sounds right to me. I was then treated for the problem, severe anemia and related angina and glossitis which Dr. Johnson had never even heard of and the problem was resolved with iron shots. He even told me he thought I had lung cancer based on the x-rays from his terrible, cheap little x-ray machine and that wasn't true either but it scared me and my husband extremely. I had terrible experiences with this doctor!
