Dr. Matthew Robert Johnson, MD

After years of dealing with back pain and taking medications/injections my wife finally convinced me to see a specialist. I was referred to Dr. Matt Johnson by my family doctors and could not be happier. I am now finally able to do all of the things I love pain free. Thank you Dr. Johnson and CNOS for your terrific care.

I would like to start by saying I am not posting this just because I am upset, my aim is not to make anyone look bad and I donâ??t take any of this lightly. I have more experience than I would like dealing with Doctors and I know how hard it can be to find one you trust. I have had two major surgeries on my lower back, countless painful outpatient procedures, and have gone to a pain management specialist in the Dakota Dunes area once a month for the past six years. In addition, I have seen many Doctors of broader specialties, (family M.D.'s etc.). Most have worked to address the cause, and have a better understanding of what I am going through, but the pain has only become more severe and they could only help up to a point. Unfortunately, the Doctor who did my prior surgery was retiring, so I was referred to Dr. Johnson with the hope that his background in Neurosurgery could provide some answers, or possibilities at the very least. I had a hard time with the idea of seeing another… surgeon, but when you are in pain all of the time itâ??s all you think about, so I did my best to remain optimistic. My appointment with Dr. Johnson was like a punch in the stomach, it felt like I had the wind knocked out of me. Any optimism I had about help for my pain was taken in that short (maybe 10 min) appointment. I tried to ask every question I could think of but I was frequently interrupted and even though it was a short appointment, I saw him look at the time more than once. At one point, I honestly felt guilty as if I was keeping him from something, it was just an awful experience and I left with more questions than answers. I don't normally write feedback on these sites but it is worth it if this prevents even one person from having an experience like I did.
