I brought my two year old in to the Mission ER last week with severe trauma to his finger. Dr. Kaplan was extremely patient, kind, and thorough with his treatment. He ended up calling in another doctor to discuss what steps should be taken to help my sons finger. A week later, at a follow up appointment the orthopedic specialist said the ER doctor did such a good job that we would be able to avoid having to do surgery. I am so grateful for Dr. Kaplan and his team!

It took forever to get to see Dr. Kaplan, due to overload at the Mission Hospital Emergency, but I think that he is very competent, friendly and knowledgeable professional. I really don't understand why so many negative reviews. These aren't fair.

Dr Kaplan is a capable physician and diagnostician. Initial diagnosis apparently only warranted a NP (usually I like them, this one was far too dismissive) Unfortunately, the system in a not-for-profit hospital is to diagnose and discharge and utilize as few of diagnostic resources as possible. I would not recommend Mission Hospital ER to anyone. This is my third family member who was DC from ER only to be admitted at another hospital.

I agree with the previous review, Dr. Kaplan was rude and has horrible bed side manners. I came to emergency room, just to be safe, because my belly button was red and soar after doing some pull ups. Dr. Kaplan was very anxious to preform surgery on me and threatened to keep me in the hospital against my will when I started to say I don't need surgery right this minute. Thankfully another doctor was on duty who reviewed my belly button for an umbilical hernia and said it didn't need surgery right away or perhaps ever. Its now been over a year and I've climbed Mt. Whitney, learned to surf, and workout regularly and I've had no problems. The problem is Dr. Kaplan is the emergency room doctor so you don't really have a choice to see him or not. If you do happen to get him ask for another doctor ASAP.

Condescending and arrogant, he may or may not be technically a good doctor, but his bedside manner and disdainful attitude put this physician at the bottom of every doctor I have ever met list. What a jerk..
