Wonderful visit. Great personality, ample time spent and answered all questions.only waited about 3-4 minutes. Going for shoulder replacement surgery. His staff was also excellent.

Dr. Kelly was very attentive and thorough explaining the procedure I needed.

I saw Dr Kelly on referral by Dr Dailey, who repaired my right rotator cuff several years ago. Dr Kelly is skilled, knowledgeable, and professional, yet cordial and sympathetic, and he met me at my level of understanding. We first tried a conservative treatment with an aspiration and injection treatment, but it afforded only brief relief. After reviewing X-rays and CT scans, he was surprised I had not sought help sooner. He proposed and described a reverse total shoulder arthroplasty, and I agreed. The hospital and the entire surgical team was outstanding, including the anesthesiologists who performed an ultrasound-guided regional nerve block pre-op (which I was able to observe). My post-op care at UPMC Community General was similarly outstanding, warm, and friendly. I was kept one additional day to be sure that I was adequately stabilized with minimal pain. Dr Kelly described my shoulder as one of the worst he had ever seen. He also said my rapid recovery and minimal pain were… remarkable. At my three-month post-op I asked him to take a look at my left shoulder, which has become increasingly painful in the same manner as the right one had. He saw a similar degree of damage to the left shoulder. I see him again for my right shoulder six months from now, one year post-op, and I plan to ask him about doing the left RTSA—if not sooner.

Dr. Kelly is terrific. I have seen him for issues with my left shoulder and was quite concerned about needing surgery. Dr. Kelly had reviewed my x-rays and the MRI at my first visit and quickly reassured me that I did not need surgery at this time. He recommended Physical Therapy and had given me an injection which helped immensely. I had a follow up appointment yesterday and he quickly checked my arm strength, etc. and we discussed how my shoulder was doing now. I mentioned I had gone to therapy from March to July and my shoulder was better although not 100%. He recommended continuing the PT exercises at home as well as another injection to enable better mobility while doing them. Dr. Kelly is very thorough, personable and is known as an expert in his field. I would not hesitate to go back to him again should any more problems arise. Highly recommend.

I am very grateful that I was able to see Dr. Kelley regarding my rotator cuff. I was very concerned when I was unable to move my arm and it has been going on for a month when I saw him he reassured me and showed me on my x-rays and MRIs, where the problem may lie but there’s no permanent damage done to my shoulder. He is running more tests to find out exactly where the pain is coming from he thinks it’s a muscle that has been stressed from physical therapy.

He came in the room and got right to caring for me about my trouble with my arm!! He was quick and polite and to the point told me what he wanted to do and tested my arm to see what might be the problem and finish with setting me up with an xray inside my arm to see problem is existed and that’s it… I love it that’s what I like straight to the point and done…

Dr. Matthew Kelly is excellent! I have been going to OIP from year 2000-2026! I had both knees replaced one in 2001 and one replaced in 2006! I am now 73 years old and Dr. Matthew Kelly replaced my left shoulder. Dr. Kelly is an excellent physician and surgeon! He is a 10 in my opinion!

Everything I hoped for was delivered! Nice guy too!

The appointment was last late otherwise great.

Very pleased with dr.kelly been happy with him for years and don't want anyone else.
