Dr. Matthew Jae Kim, MD

This office is disorganized. They lose appointments they scheduled. I always thought it was weird that there’s no reminder call or email but I write down my appointments and show up on time. Well they lose appointments and end up wasting your time. I took off from work and brought my four month old in as scheduled. They can’t find the appointment and want us to come back next week in the middle of Covid! The dr should have squeezed us in because it was their mistake. But rather inconvenience himself he’d rather inconvenience his patients and a vulnerable 4 month old. There’s no excuse for that!

Doctor Kim explained to my 12 year old that he is a body mechanic. He knows how the body functions and the best fuel to have. Gave him pointers on intuitions and guided us to a healthier lifestyle. On our visits he is thorough and detailed.

After reading several positive reviews online, I decided to choose Dr. Kim as my child's new pediatrician. We made the initial appointment because my child had been suffering from reoccurring colds for the past few months. We were getting very frustrated and after several trips to the urgent care we were in search of someone who would listen to our concerns. Within minutes of meeting Dr. Kim he went on a 15-20 minute rant (seriously) about childhood colds and the fact that we just had to get used to it. When I tried to speak he told me that he was better than google and anything I probably read about online and he was the one who went to medical school for 10 years so he was right. I was appalled. He was very arrogant, condescending and defensive, to say the least. Keep in mind that he had not even examined my child before this point. I was very bothered but remained calm for the sake of my child. At no point was he friendly to me or my husband and after he talked down to us I did not… feel comfortable to even ask him questions. We left the office with absolutely no resolutions. Fast forward about a month later, I took my child back for another visit because I had not found another doctor and wanted to give Dr. Kim another chance. Unfortunately, his demeanor and attitude had not changed since our last visit. Again, he lectured me on various health choices and my child's future well being. He spoke to me like I was an uneducated parent who didn't know a thing about maintaining a healthy lifestyle. Again, I was very annoyed and just wanted to get out of there. He pretty much ignored my child until he checked him at the very end of the visit. Needless to say, we will not be returning to Dr. Kim for our health care needs. He may be a qualified doctor and even an "expert" so he says, but I could not even have a conversation with him about my child's health. I do want to add however, that the nurses and staff were all very nice, caring and attentive. It's a shame that the same cannot be said for Dr. Kim. I really wish that he would have been that great doctor we had been searching for.

I have a 2 year old and 8 month old that see Dr. Kim and another on the way. We love him. He spends plenty of time with you, answers questions, alleviates concerns and has great bedside manner. The staff is not all that friendly and they aren't nurses. So basically "trained" people doing your kids vitals and shots, not my favorite. It's also nearly impossible to get a referral. I had to call Dr. Kim directly to get it done, again staff issues. The office is clean, but not very welcoming (no pictures, one toy, etc.). You also don't go home with a recap of your child's visit unless you ask for it (I literally take Dr. Kim's sheet, which has height/weight/head circum. and his notes on it home). I usually wait about 10 minutes to get called back, then another 20-30 minutes to see Dr. Kim. If you can look past the office, staff and other logistics and are truly just looking for a good doctor, you'll be in good hands with Dr. Kim.

Dr Kim is a wonderful doctor. Takes his time with patient. The other staff especially the receptionist are rude!

my daughter recently fell at 330 and we called his office to try to avoid the ER. Nonetheless, they brushed me off and sent us to the ER. I can believe how rude and not understanding how a panic mom feels. No compassion at all!!!

A Wonderful, Great Doctor

Dr. Kim is a wonderful caring doctor.
